N Sync will not release a new album this year.. - Eternal Allegiance

Fans of 'N Sync have been hit with disappointing news - the bandmembers have opted against releasing an album together this year.

The singers took a break from recording together two years ago (02), with frontman Justin Timberlake scoring huge success with his solo album Justified. And while it was expected that the five-piece would release an album later this year, it's now been announced that it's not to be.

Timberlake, JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, Lance Bass and Joey Fatone regrouped in Florida on 25 July to sing America's national anthem at their annual Challenge For The Children basketball tournament. The following day, they held a band meeting to discuss if and when they would hit the studio again.

But if any decisions were made in that meeting, they haven't been reflected in the fourth-quarter release schedule of their label Jive Records.

Neither the band nor its members have any albums slated for the remainder of the year, according to label representative Sonia Muckle who stresses that it doesn't mean there won't ever be a new album from 'N Sync, but "there's nothing in the works right now".

I don't think they should release one this year anyway, they need more time than that. If they're going to do it they need to take their time and do it right.

I sense Celebrity meets Justified= new NSYNC album, i dunno, its just seems kind of pointless to have Joey and Chris and Lance in the group, if there just gonna do what Justin wants anyway, but as long as the songs r good like the last 2 singles im buying it.

Joey is the BEST! He's got such a great voice

Ah, I just love him. I think all the guys have an input in the group, unequally of course, but I think JC and Justin have the biggest pull.

i'm a die-hard NSYNC fan and have been since '98... i liked them so much at the time i couldn't see my walls in my room and anything and everything that i talked about had NSYNC referenced into it. so if this is true i am dissapointed, but i agree with someone up there ^^ if they're going to make a come-back they should do it right. I think it's going to be such an ecclectic album tho. with all of them spending time apart and experiencing new things. besides, even though Joey, Chris, and Lance haven't done anything music wise, well never mind, just chris and lance...doesn't mean that they are no use to the band. they are a critical part of it. and if they wouldn't hop on the project would fail and fail miserably, why, because fans like myself wouldn't have any of it, it wouldn't be NSYNC it would be the JC, JUSTIN, JOEY show, and it wouldn't fly...so i hope that they start getting thought collected and not rush it along, it's gon' rock

Yeah, they need to take it nice & slow, do it right. Just because their fans are getting restless & impatient is no reason for them to rush. I mean, they've waited this long. What difference does a while longer make?
