Several news reports are saying they are surprised about the winners. Im not, i mean, today is all about the new bands and the great and nice artists like Beyonce. I knew Madonna, Christina Aguilera and other "favorites" wouldnt win no matter if they are way more popular than other nominees.

I didnt like Beyonce's performance but i think her voice has excellent, the best vocals of the night.

I liked Justin stage and dance rutines but i didnt like the way he sang te first song.

I never ever hear Panic At The Disco before, not even a clip of any of their songs. But i dont think the singer did a bad job, maybe i think that because i have nerver hear the studio version of the song.

And Shakira's, well, im reading a lot of people saying they didnt like her voice but i think it was ok. Im surprised because i have always think Shakira's voice sounds terrible live. I think that performance was one of her best vocals i've hear (for a not ballad song).

Even though the VMAs didn't suck that much this year people were still peeved from the last few (horrible, barfworthy) VMAs.

"The show, once a ratings juggernaut for MTV, pulled in an average of just 5.77 million total viewers over its three hour telecast starting at 8 p.m., down 28% from the 8 million viewers it averaged last year, according to preliminary data from Nielsen Media Research. Just two years ago, the show brought in nearly double last night's audience-10.3 million viewers.

While still about five times what MTV has averaged in primetime this summer, the show's TV audience last night is a shadow of the 12 million viewers it once earned."

I hated how was no main stage and the celebrities were seated that way. I like the old way better. Where the Celebrities were seated on the actual seats in the venue rather than on the edge of the stage. Also, it feels weird not having mtv pelt the airwaves with their advertisements for the VMA's. I remember in 2001 they had an ad for almost every artist, even Britney too. But this year all they did was one advertisement and they didn't play re-runs of those shocking VMA moments every day of the week. It didn't even feel like the VMA's were on that week which is odd because MTV usually does a good job with the promotion.
