My CD Review

The Trouble With Love Is -
Length - 3:41
Type - Ballad
My Thoughts - The song is OKAY, not her best, but not the worst on the CD. Might be a really good song to people who are going through a break up!

Some Kind Of Miracle -
Length - 3:39
Type - Ballad
My Thoughts - I didn't like this song at all, the lyrics were not that great and it was kind of sappy/corny .... On a side note, it sounds alot like I Care 4 U by Aaliyah at the begining!

Miss Independent -
Length - 3:34
Type - R&B/Rock
My Thoughts - I think this was her best choice for a first single, the chorus is great and so is the hook, the rest is kind of weak. It's co-writen by christina aguilera, and I actually think it has a little bit of "Fighter" in it, not because they sound ALOT alike, but the set up in the songs (if that makes sense!)

Low -
Length - 3:28
Type - Soft Rock
My Thoughts - This song is one of my favorite off the CD. I can relate to the lyrics in a way, and I love the sound of it. I was not sure how to say what type it is, because it's really hard to say! Did anyone else kind of get a sheyrl Crow feel from it? It's one of those songs that has alot in it, I'd recommend you download this if you're not going to buy the CD!

What's Up Lonley -

My Thoughts - Another really hard song to say what type it was. I LOVE THE LYRICS TO THIS SONG. I can relate to it, and I think alot of other people can. I'm not crazy about the music, but another song I'd download at least!

Just Missed The Train -

Type - Rock
My Thoughts - The song isn't that bad, I'm not crazy about it, but the chorus is really good!

Beautiful Disaster -

My Thoughts - I'm listening to the cd as i write this, and so far this is the worst song by far on the cd

You Thought Wrong Ft. Tamyra Gray
Length - 3:51
Type - Alternative/R&B
My Thoughts - This is another amazing song off the CD, Tamyra is an amazing singer, who's just as good (if not better) then Kelly and their voices blended together VERY well. I would like to see this as a single possibly, but in a way i'd hate to see it because Kelly needs to break away from the whole American Idol thing.

My Thoughts - I REALLY liked this song, the only complaint I have is that it's not as good as when she sang it live on american idol a few weeks ago! Her live preformance of it was much better, but the song is still awsome.

A Moment Like This (Mixed Version) -
Length - 3:49
Type - Ballad
My Thoughts - Well, there is really not much different from the version that was released as a single, as well as on the American Idol CD. The music is a little different, and the ending of the song sounds different, but that's really about it. It seems like they added a set of drums to the beat throught out most of the song, that's the only really noticable change. I haven't listened to A Moment Like This in a while so maybe they did change more, and I just don't hear it.

Before Your Love (Mixed Version) -

My Thoughts - Really the same thing i said about A Moment Like This, no big changes, infact this one seems to have less changes then A Moment Like This. The only thing i noticed was that the ending was different, it sounded more like how it sounds when she sings the song live, which was cool. I was kind of let down by both of the songs though, because I thought that they'd either be really different, or even dance mixes. I expected her to put the songs on the CD anyways, so it was cool to get a few different things added to them, but that wasn't what i was expecting when i saw "New Mix"

Overall -
Well after listening a few times *i edited this in at 3:30 monday* I like nearly every song on the CD!!! Some songs i didn't at first, but I love the whole thing. The only song i don't like is Beautiful Disaster, but even that's not to where i can't stand it. Really impressive debut CD, hope she makes it, but it's gonna be hard!

You just said that like 1/2 the songs are your least favorite! I don't see this cd being that big. Just because even her fans cant say the whole cd is good.. or even decent. I wish Kelly could have spent time on this cd, instead of doing that godamn movie. She needs to break away from the corny American Idol image. And a movie "From Justin To Kelly", will not help..

But anyway I'm getting off topic. Kelly is a great talent, I wish she could have spent more time on REAL tracks, with meaningful lyrics and feeling. I don't see that as what we will get with "Thankful", and if your first cd flops, you don't usually get a second chance.

I'd love to see what her second cd sounds like, although I'm beginning to wonder if we'll get the chance. I love Kelly, she has GREAT talent but.. I don't know. Your review just said it all for me.

Twisted Rocker - I did think that a few of the songs were not that good, but the other ones that I really liked made up for it. Who knows though, the songs i hated i might like in a few days, might just have to get use to it. Download "Low"

Meighan - Yeah that was the one thing i didn't like about seeing her preform last week. It WAS good for the album though because the dumbasses released her single WAY to late, you don't release a single a week before an album! At least this way, people got to hear/see it, and the ratings are REALLY good this season, so it couldn't have hurt. I just hope it's her last stop, but i doubt it. Her official site even has AI2 news about the charity single they are releasing, which makes no sense except the fact that they want to promote as much as they can.

I've only hears a few songs but what I have heard I really like. It's different. I mean, there's no 'teenybopper pop' or 'bubblegum pop' and it's not 'punk pop'. These songs have actual substance and are really good. I can see each song being a single and a video but I think 'Anytime' and 'Low' should be the other singles released. 'Anytime' would be the big ballad and 'Low' is such a great song, I think everyone likes it. I can't wait to hear the rest of the album tomorrow.
