Yeah, over the past I've noticed that although Britney's videos do well on TRL, Her songs flop on the Billboard charts.
This has happened with a lot of artists I've noticed.  Confusing or what?! |

isn't it because radio (ClearChannel stations) did refuse to play Britney songs on the radio,espec. since the 'Britney' era,due to Britney's ppl decided to go with Concert West (for tours and promos),instead of ClearChannel.So ClearChannel didn't play any Britney songs,resulting in low airplay (ClearChannel stations are the majority of big radio stations).In the end,not much airplay effects in low chart position (BilllBoard charts)...i hope i'm not totally off with this.... | |

Grr, when people say Britney was never played on the radio, I wonder if they actually listened. I heard "Boys" and "Overprotected" a lot. I also heard "Not A Girl" quite a few times. She was played...just not as much as she was for her "Oops!" or "...Baby" albums. I heard (but I'm not sure that it's true), that "Slave" was put on "the blacklist" because of 9/11 and sctuff, but I'm not sure. Anyways, TRL is about the videos. If people like the videos, they'll vote for them. You don't have to like the song to like the video (?). | |

Oh well.. But now I hear that ClearChannel might promote her new cd so maybe she'll get more air play! THANK GOD!  Thats good news.. | |

Logan maybe in ur area but for a lot of us we never heard any Britney songs on the radio, shit my station played the Overprotected Darkchild remix like wut 8 times in a course of two weeks then they stop? pfftt, and the Boys Co-Ed remix, I only heard it on the radio when Top 40 came on which was On Sunday, god ClearChannel really needs to grow up and all. I really hope for the next era they can work things out. | |

hm....i neva heard britney much, but the radio stations around here in this country like tp play our country's music such as westlife, busted, geri, ms dynamite, craig david and all the dance acts like lasgo, milky, dj sammy......they dont play that much american band/singers songs apart fromm good charlotte and justin timberlake...thats all they play(not that im complaining) | |

She was never played here...well, I don't mean NEVER, but very rarely was she played. Right now I think Christina is getting more air-time here than Britney was back in the days of BOMT, so...yeah. I dunno. | |

she wasnt played here at all.. only time they played her songs was when she came to perform in town. then they sucked up.. after she left--no more britney on the radio. clearchannel sucks.. i hope they start playin her music when the next album comes out, too | |
