| No, they're hardly flops. I think they're both doing fine just looking at the stats posted. All of Justin's singles have been in heavy rotation on the radio & his videos have been in heavy rotation on MTV and BET as well. Their albums are successful. "Stripped" is doing better than "Justified" right now on the Billboard, yes, but as long as he's in the top 50...it's all good. He was a huge hit in the UK. "Justified" went to #1 there. But anyway...they're both doing alright, and this tour, I think will only add to their sales. Looks like it's already working to me.
Also, if Christina decides to release "Impossible", that would be a real smart move. It's a great song, and her album sales would probably shoot up more Justin's supposedly coming out with a song called "I'm Lovin' It". I heard it on the radio. I'm hooked on that song. It's tight. He's already shot the video for it, which will premiere this fall(according to MTV). I think Christina should release "Loving Me 4 Me" sometime in the near future, though....after "Impossible" maybe. I heard that song on a soap opera. It only took me a minute to realize it was Christina singing, but I was definitely feelin the song.
I think Justin should continue with his solo career, release a couple more singles on "Justified". Then next year...put out another album, do another tour, cuz I haven't seen him in concert yet. I've seen NSync...not him, though. Basically just keep on going w/the solo career. Christina...same goes for her. Keep doing her thing and continue w/her music career. Her & Justin are too talented musically & have too much of a passion for it to stop now.

| Re: Christina and Justin: Are they flops? | | Quote: Originally posted by britneyJSfan119 Airplay for both has been a success, but it always seems that someone new is out and they are limited to only top 10 singles. Take Justin's "Rock Your Body," it peaked on the Hot 100 at #7, but it spent 6 weeks at #1 on radio airplay, how could that be???? | Having a #1 single is not solely based on who's #1 at Pop Radio. While they have each had a #1 on radio airplay, their impressions only add up on certain station formats, where as some songs cross into several airplay formats. They base Billboard poitions on amount of impressions per song.
By no means are they flops. Who cares if they weren't as popular as before? They are both very successful even now, and to break out of the little teenybopper pop trend thing that went on and STILL have successful records on radio and decent sales, then more power to them. |

RCA released something called a retail single, which they haven't done this time around, so therefore chances are she'll never gain enough impressions to have another #1. |

| I think that both are not doing that well. Here's what's happening in Quebec, Canada:
Justin: His 2 first single, Like I Love You and Cry Me a River was both big hits. Rock your Body and Senorita (i saw this video once!) didn't did soo well.
Xtina: Dirrty wasn't a big hit but Fither and Beautiful was. Can't hold us down is almost never played. (i have 3 music channel musique plus, much music and mtv canada and i've seen it 3 times only!) |

| yea i know the singles were released comercially, as was "dirrty." it still didn't get a peak higher then #48, and also when "genie" and the rest of the singles off her debut were released, they were are priced at .99 cents here, so i guess that helped too. but i also noticed airplay not as well as before, so i think she has lost a little star power.
also, that is MY opnion, i feel that they aren't doing as good as you have an opnion too. |

| I think they're both doing extremely well.
You have to take into consideration that Justin didn't have to try to gain any fan base when his album came out. Why? Because he had legions of obsessed and crazed Nsync fans that were going to buy his album no matter what. Nsync and their popularity was a HUGE driving force in how successful his debut album was. He did gain new fans, I'm sure, but he didn't have to work to get that initial fan base that can make you or break you, he's had that for 6 or 7 years now.
As for Christina, I think she's doing extremely well considering the huge change she went through and the large ammount of time that she was away. I was almost dreading the release of her CD because I thought it was going to bomb. She was away for almost 2 years and then she came back out with something that was a complete 180 from her first CD...but people liked it. Sure, it didn't sell as much as her debut album did, but you have to remember that that was released at a time when teen pop was at it's highest and now it's slowly fading away and the scene is going in different directions. |
