Does MTV really think we're that dumb? Look at all the big names (Usher, Britney, Beyonce) and look who they're up against. People they KNOW won't even have a chance of winning. I could probably telling you right now which songs will make it onto the next round.

Britney vs. Fountains of Wayne = Britney
Usher vs. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs = Usher
Beyonce vs. Simple Plan = Beyonce
Jay-Z vs. The White Stripes = Jay-Z
Kelis vs. Linkin Park = Kelis
D12 vs. Mario Winans = D12
Chingy vs. Switchfoot (I love you Switchfoot, but) = Chingy
Evanescence vs. Outkast = Outkast

The voting thing is pointless because it's way too obvious who's going to make it onto the next round. MTV did that on purpose.

I think its for obvious reasons. If you put Britney up agaisnt Usher and Usher were to win, then Britney wouldn't be included in the finals, and that would make a LOT of people unhappy. But, if they were to skip the entire process of the playoffs, then it wouldn't exactly be 'viewers choice' now would it? It's a lose-lose situation either way for MTV, so this is the way they have to do it.

Vote against Beyonce and Usher...It'll be easier down the road if one of these two were not included in the nominations for Britney.

That's what I was trying to say

They know it's rigged in a way that the big artists of the time will be in the final round. They know those going against Usher, Britney, and Beyonce won't win.
