What I call classics is different: songs like Thriller by M Jackson are classics, all the hits by Elvis (my fave singer) like Are You lonesome tonight, In The Ghetto, are classics.

I dunno if Robbie is the Madonna for men... but it's not wrong anyway! His popularity is increasing day by day and he knows how to change his music.

A cover by album would be great for Britney... really. Some rocky sounds like I love rnr too. Lonely is more Janet-like sound. Janet recorded some songs very close to brtiney's lonely like "What about" or "This Time."

I think that Brtieny is well aware of the fact she has to evolve a bit from album to album... she has surely loads of plans for future songs... we'll have to be patient.

Hey , Gfi , I'm back to continue the post , one day after!

I thought that you loved classical music... I was wrong !

I agree about Robbie , just for one thing... I think that he's less popular the before... do you know if his album "Swing When You're Winning" works well?

It's strange because I thought exactly the same thing about "Lonely". It sounds like a Janet Jackson's "typical fast track" as you said like "What About" or "Trust A Try" for her new album "All For You" (did you hear it?).
I just hope that Britney will do more songs like that , they are always huge and I don't understand why Jive didn't release it , it's note just because it's ma favorite song but it would be a big success don't you think?

As we said , rock music works so well in the UK , US and Europe and that's why they HAD torelease it... Jive is sometimes really strange!

Yeah , we have to be patient... but this is hard , isn't it ?

Well see ya nex time (I'll back on Wednesday) !

Swing when you're winning works well because not only his young fans but also their parents appreciate his album of "classics". All the songs he covered are well done and many 30+ or 40+ or 50+ people know those songs and are pleased to discover them again.
I dunno how the albu mworks in the USA... but in Europe, it works well.

I have all Janet's albums since Rhythm Nation 1814, so I also have All for you... that disappointed me a bit. Trust A try is another typical Janet song, fast-paced, intense. All For You (the single) was a hit... and is pure pop! So, another argument in favor of "Pop is still big!"

I understand your impatience about Britney and her albums... but if she releases an album each year, sooner or later her fans will be thinking "'I love you Britney, but it's a bit too much".
One album every two years or 1,5years is the norm.
In every young singer's early career, you'll notice that he/she released about 1 album/year and then one album every two years.
Of course there are exceptions, Sir Paul Mc Cartney has been releasing about 1 album a year since 1971! Sometimes, he waited two years....

So, it's better to wait a bit and to have a good album rather than an album produced quickly without hard work.

That's why All for you by Janet disappoints me... she took 4 years to make it... and you feel like she totally lacked inspiration and originality! Except All for you and soem other fast tracks, it's too much rnb tainted. She reached her peak in 1993... and now she is still big but the music is less good.

Hum. I thought other thing about "Swing When You're Winning".
But you're maybe right; I don't know.

Yeah , "All For You" was a hit but that's because this is from Janet Jackson , THE true one! That's a icon of pop, she will never flop except in 10 years or more!

I think it's long to wait. But if Britnet don't take time for work on the production and lyrics , it will not be good (I'm OK with you).
Her fourth album will go out in Summer 2003 , I'm almost sure.

The artists often release their second album 1 year and 3 or 4 months after , for the third album 1 year and 5-6 months , and the fourth album releases 2 years after! That's good for me!

I don't know how to say about "All For You". I only have this and her greatest hits "Design Of A Decade" (I forgot the title , it's maybe "Decade Of A Design").

It doesn't disapointed me , but I think she should make songs with another producers because since her first album she produces her tracks with the same producers... I don't like it!

Yeah , I have to say that's the album should have more originality!
I couldn't believe my ears for "Would You Mind". She looks like she fucked someone (that's what she wanted to do ). I understand why it doesn't appear in the others! I was shocked!

It's clear that Janet acted like a real bitch in would you mind... lyrics like would you mind touching me, licking me,... are more than explicit and the final moans are disgusting. BUT the albuml was not labelled "Explicit lyrics"...
As a best of, "Design of a decade" is quite good but her old songs (before 1989) were all flops!
Her only great album was "Janet" in 1993. Then in 97, Velvet rope was good but not great.

As for Britney... she has sold almost the same amount of cds as Janet in only three years... she is a superstar for sure but it's clear that she will need to reinvent herself often without completely changing her style. She'll have to evolve a bit...
What you said about the 4th album seems right... it would be the appropriate date for a release.
In my view, this album will already be even more mature than Britney was compared to the first two.
I also think that many producers will agree to work with Britney... she already said that her work with the Neptunes pleased her a lot and she will surely ask other good producers to owrk with her.
Now, I honnestly believe that Max Martin is a guy she still need! THis guy knows how to make hits for Britney! She has sthing to say in the songs he writes for her, so, she will just need to tell him the kinda song she wants.
She is already involved a lot in her songs and as she is more and more confident, she will go on in this way!
It's hard to tell where she will be in ten years, it's too soon to know.

We'll go on if you like... no problem.
It's always cool to discuss things about Britney's future...
I wonder if she knows how much her fans care for her....

Default 4 Gfi

In "Would You Mind" she acted like a bitch... I agree with you.
"I just wanna touch you , taste you , lick you , suck you..." That's a horrible song... the end should be censored!

I don't hear "Janet" , what singles she released of this album?
"Velvet Rope" is still a great album. I really like this one.

I think that Britney is sooooo popular for her age, but nobody will agree with us if we say that she's the most popular woman because people thinks that she's only 20, a little bit young to be call "queen of pop". If she continues to sell millions of albums, we could say she's the "queen of pop".

If her next album will be sexier than "I'm A Slave 4 U" or the whole "Britney" album , I think that she will flop. I hope not.
I'll not like her f she makes a album with only hip hop songs.
I honestly think she will make a album with The Neptunes and BT. I hope so.
Max Martin will always produce 1 or 2 songs for her. Now I hope that she will produce with him. She should write and produce a part of this fourth album don't you think.
If the album is original and that she produces her OWN tracks, it will works very well. Looks Madonna. She started this early.
A duet with Justin Timberlake could be good, a hot song to be released.

Well , Gfi , I hope that you'll answer me.

Hm... I quite agree with you when yo usay that Britney really desserves a queen of pop title.
She is much more popular than Janet and Madonna now! People still buy Madonna's cds because there's "Madonna" written on it... nothing else.
Madonna lacks inspiration these days...
Britney will surely not release a hip-hop cd... normally not!
You know that Britney loves recording pop songs! + she wants to have her own Britney style... and will still go on with M. Martin for a bit... you don't change a winning team like that.
I don't think that a sexier album would flop... she wants to concentrate her efforts on tackling the 18-35 ... and less the 10-18...

And yup, as far as you go on writing sthing I can answer too, I will go on with you...
We'll get the longest thread maybe... not that I give a dm about that but I remember the other idiot who started a thread "longest thread".
