Sure they have some hip-hop in it..it's basically,pop/r'n'b/hip-hop.

Pop won't fade.
If our generation stopped liking pop..don't worry, there are lots of 2-3 year olds who will be running around and screaming 'Spice Boys','Spice Boys' in 4-5 years.

hey i've been a fan since 98 and baby one more time and I love EVERY SINGLE SONG Britney has ever recorded that i've heard, and I do think that her new music has alot more r&b to it OBVIOUSLY! she getes played on the rap stations here with ima slave 4 u, and sure shes not rapping hard core and like swearing but she has def. passed the POP STAR name she is bigger than that and she is the one that made pop SO popular

As far as I know, Britney declared herself that pop music was what she liked most, so she will not stop pop entirely, she will surely do more sophisitcated, more elaborated songs... and surely no more bot or oops-like songs.

She has to find the style that pleases her most... songs like Cinderella or Bombastic love still sound bublegom pop to some ears but those are already including more rocky sounds... well, those are not rock tracks of course but are already more complex than BOT.

The way she sings I love rnr shows her ability to make good rock/pop tracks... I would like that in the future.

The problem wit nowadays rock is that all those new bands are playing with fire... they mix rock with rap and rnb... and the result is awful!
I'm a fan of classic Hard rock (Alice Cooper, AC/DC, Rose Tattoo, Jackyl, Guns'n'roses...) so I hate those new bands.
Sooner or later they will disappear... don't worry.
Rnb totally lacks catcy tracks or originality, so... it will not last...

Britney will find her way through... for sure. I doubt she'll do rnb (God prevents her from doing rnb shit).
In my view, she can do what Jennifer Lopez does: pop with rnb touches, and some catchy latino songs, a bit of pop/dance.
Brit can do great music... and so far, she has shown us that she can sing great catchy tracks...
Well, I respect your opinions too. I'm sure that I was wrong, I'm sorry but for me hi hop it's just R&B mixed with the rap... and "I'm A Slave 4 U" sounded like that with a touch of old pop. But I'm almost sure that you're right.

I agree with you , rock is bullshit now, what the rock band did with their music is awful , I can't listen to this stupid music.

You're right everywhere but Britney will stop pop music a day , because this is fading like I already said 10000 times. There will always have 1 pop tracka t least for each album , look Madonna.

She don't do pop music , but country or electronic tracks with Mirwais. Britney will do this I think. We'll see.

Maybe , I don't know it's just that it doesn't work as in 1996 with the Spice Girls selling 30 millions of albums.

Yes... but remember that when the Spice Girls released their latest album in 2000 or was it last year? they flopped! AND THE ALBUM WAS 100% RNB!!! Holler did quite good, then the rest flopped so quickly, that no other single was released... not tour was planned anymore....

IF they had sticked to their pop sound, they would have sold much better!

So, honnestly, POP is still the good reciepe... BUT as yopu cleverly underlined... NO MORE PURE POP! Pop tainted of country like Faith Hill or S Twain sounds really good and sells well! Electronic pop like Slave 4u (Sorry, I still think it's electronic pop) will sell well.
OR what Britney does.... a great cover of a classic track per album. This is a brilliant idea!
WEll... Britney is surely farm ore talented that we imagine... I think she is able to sing many styles of music.
Just listen to the pepsi commercials... the little song she sings in her 1958's commercial is really nice!
Now, slowly but surely, teens and a slightly older audience is coming back to classics.... look at Robbie Williams' new cd "Swing, when you're winning"... it's 100% classics!
Sthing Stupid is a hit.... and is 50 years old! Frank Sinatra sang this beautiful and simple songs in the late 50's, early 60's...

Music is recycling constantly, so, when singers don't know where to search for sthign new... they turn to oldies and adpat the songs...

Humm... I have to say that I WAS a big fan of Spice Girls and I really don't understand why people don't bought their album.

"Forever" is a big classic for me , it's their best one... people listened "Holler" and thought "OK , they changed her style of pop for the R&B , I don't like it , I'm not going to buy it". That's not true.

"Forever" has pop tracks , r&b trakcs , ballads and more...

But that's not the discussion... humm you're very clever Gfi really!

I agree with you when you said Britney can sing a lot of different music but I think that we all know that she sings pop better than any ohter style of music , don't you?

We can understand people when they say that they are fed up with pop... it starts with Spice Girls then (or before) Aqua , All Saints , Boyzone , Five , Worlds Apart and many others... they finished to don't want this music... but that's just the begining... Britney continues to sell very very well and I really hope that it will continue a long time.

And about the "Swing When You're Winning" album of Robbie Willlams , I have to say that I don't like that. The only good song is the single with Nicole Kidman "Something Stupid" though.
I prefered him when he sang "Rock DJ" or "Supreme" or "Angel".

Britney did a lot of many good covers. Robbie Williams disapointed me with his album.

Hm... first allow me to begin with the Robbie Williams reflexion... I thin kthat you're maybe a bit young to appreciate Robbie's Swing... cd, it's good but if you don't like this 60's sound, It's logical that you don't like the album.

WEll... I honestly dunno if I'm that clever, I just show a lot of interest for popular music in general, and I try to listen to various forms of popular music. Apart fro mrap I still can't stand, I try to be open-minded.
It's treu that Britney is excellent at singing poppy tune but she is really good at rock covers (I love rock 'n'roll is excellent!). Her cover gained her the support and respect of some "real" modern punk/rock bands. (Blink 182 said Britney was not only gorgeous but simply great!).
As you were referring to Robbie William's songs like Supreme, Angle or Rock dj (all very good songs), you have to remember that Robbie started his career with Take That, then slowly evolved to becoem a real solo artist.
I'm not afn of his but I have the feeling that each year, his songs improve! His singing skills too!

For Britney, it's a bit similar, she started in 1998 with BOT? very bublegom-pop with loads of catchy tunes and a few nice balalds and mid-tempo songs (like Sometimes and Born to make you happy or The Beat Goes on).
Then, Oops appeared and songs like Stronger or WYSIWAYG were more tainted of rock.

Now... her sound is more serious, more solid, I would say.
If she combines pop sounds with a bit of rock or sthing else, she will go on... and on, and on...

You're right. I'm too young to appreciate classic music or jazz. I hate it. But that's good for a lot of people.

I'm glad that you like Robbie Williams! I'm not a fan too but I like his music. I tihnk he is the Madonna for the men.

I agree. She HAS to combines pop sounds with rock and something like that and she will go on like you said I hope that she will do one cover for each album they are great. And also more rock songs , it rocks (lol). Like "Lonely" for example. Don't u think?

Hm... I hate classical music too... you know... Jazz is not my cup of tea either.
What I call classics is different: songs like Thriller by M Jackson are classics, all the hits by Elvis (my fave singer) like Are You lonesome tonight, In The Ghetto, are classics.

I dunno if Robbie is the Madonna for men... but it's not wrong anyway! His popularity is increasing day by day and he knows how to change his music.

A cover by album would be great for Britney... really. Some rocky sounds like I love rnr too. Lonely is more Janet-like sound. Janet recorded some songs very close to brtiney's lonely like "What about" or "This Time."

I think that Brtieny is well aware of the fact she has to evolve a bit from album to album... she has surely loads of plans for future songs... we'll have to be patient.
