Britney Spears has been gearing up for her two shows in Scotland by indulging in a traditional American pastime.

The 22-year-old pop star was spotted letting her hair down at a ten-pin bowling alley in Lanarkshire with a group of friends.

She had apparently booked all 28 lanes at the Hollywood Bowl in Coatbridge for security reasons.

The star, whose latest single Toxic is in the top 30, is performing two sell-out shows at the SECC in Glasgow this weekend.

She has already come under fire for her raunchy stage antics and miming at other UK dates.

Her support act at the shows is JC Chasez, a former member of boyband N'Sync which also featured Britney's ex Justin Timberlake.

Plenty of magazines, such as 'M Magazine', write articles on how celebrities relax before concerts, movie tapings, photoshoots, and such so it's not a huge deal. Almost every cover of every magazine that is celebrity related has articles on these things, so it's not a big issue or deal.
