People Magazine Lists Intriguing People Thu Dec 19, 1:20 PM ET NEW YORK (AP) - In this year of continuing fear for our safety, President Bush (news - web sites), Nobel Peace Prize winner Jimmy Carter and Montgomery County Police Chief Charles Moose are among People magazine's "25 Most Intriguing People of 2002."
The list, released Thursday, also includes actress-singer Jennifer Lopez (news); The Osbournes; former TV host Rosie O'Donnell (news); film stars Halle Berry (news), Winona Ryder (news), George Clooney (news) and Julia Roberts (news); TV stars Jennifer Aniston (news) and Sarah Jessica Parker (news); rapper Eminem (news - web sites) and
singer Britney Spears (news); and Martha Stewart (news - web sites).
"Some people want to say I'm over. Some can't wait for the next thing. Time will tell," says the 21-year-old Spears, who broke up with longtime boyfriend Justin Timberlake (news) this year. "The world hasn't seen all I have to give."
Nia Vardalos, creator and star of "My Big Fat Greek Wedding," says she can't believe her movie has grossed more than $200 million.
"If I heard somebody else tell the story, I would think it was made up," Vardalos tells the magazine, on newsstands Friday. "When does it end? It's nuts!"
