Arrow Britney Opens Up (MTV's You Tell Us)

Hey guys! Here are the latest comments from MTV viewers on Britney's most recent interview with SuChin. This time around, positive and negative were equal, 2 each.

Britney Opens Up

Updated Monday, November 10, 2003 4:30 P.M. (ET)

Britney Spears

I am extremely surprised by the Britney Spears interview with SuChin Pak (see "Britney Spears: 'I Don't Want To Be A Tease' "). She seemed like she was having a great time and also got serious when it was time to. I think she carried herself very well. She could have ripped into Justin Timberlake or Fred Durst but she simply said nice things about Justin and nothing about Fred. I was very surprised how well she handled herself and classy she was. I used to think she was fake and couldn't sing, but she can sing and dance her ass off. She is an inspiration to someone like me who wants to become a singer someday. I love how she said never give up hope and always believe in yourself. Ms. Spears has earned herself a new fan.

Why is it that Britney Spears can never own up to anything she does? She's a 21-year-old woman who wants to be viewed as an adult, but when faced with a question about some of her exploits, she becomes the simple girl from Louisiana who only wants to have fun. Does she not see how hypocritical she is? It's always some photographer's fault she's not wearing pants, not her own. And she can't help it if the press makes a big deal out of her virginity. Of course not, except she was the one who made the grand declaration in the first place. I can't help but wonder if Britney will ever grow tired of being a mere product sold by a record label. As a former fan, her appeal was lost on me two half-naked covers ago.

SuChin Pak did a great job with the Britney interview and I think that Britney handled every question with dignity. She really has grown up this past year. I think she's a great girl who is very true to herself. I respect her and every move she makes. Rock on, Brit!

The Britney interview with Suchin Pak was one giant butt-kissing fest. Britney and the high road never met, so Pak praising her was amusing at best (see "Britney Turns Autopilot Off: SuChin Pak Tells The Story Behind The Interview").

I agree with this girl. Although I'm still a fan, I think that if Britney wants to be taken seriously and be seen as grown up, she needs to start acting grown up. Now that's not to say that she shouldn't be doing what she does, but like this girl said, own up to it...don't try to push the blame onto other people. If you go out and get totally smashed and end up with some random guy, admit to it and move on, don't sit there like a bump on a log and go "*giggle* I just like to have fun..."

She doesn't have to own up to anything though really.. People should mind their own damn business.

She's in the media all the time and you expect people to "mind their own damn business"? *lol* Not gonna happen anytime soon sweetie...sorry to break it to you. People love to know what's going on in the lives of stars, that goes for any star. That's why we have magazines like Rolling Stone, People, Blender. That's why we have stations like MTV, VH1, Much Music, YTV, and whatever else. People like to feel connected to their favorite musicians. Why are you here on this board? To feel connected in someway. So the chance that people will simply "mind their own business" is a far cry from reality.

Jeez no need to patronise me with your opinion... I was just saying, is it really anyones buisness to know WHY britney does things. Sure we'd all love to know and we watch MTV etc to find out these things and stuff, but just cos she's in the media doesn't automatically give us the right to her. If she doesn't wanna tell us why she's done something then theres no point complaining about it, cos its not like its the law for her not to tell us... She could just as easily not do interviews, not come on tv and exlain her actions, plenty of celebritys do it and its not hurt them yet.

Of course she doesn't NEED to tell us anything and I don't think anyone was saying that she 100% needed to give an explanation for everything she does. But if she wants to be taken seriously and be seen as grown up, then it would be in her best interest to stop pushing things off on other people and accept the responsibilty of the things she does. That's just common sense....
