Did the paparazzi endanger BRITNEY SPEARS' baby? Dramatic new pictures have emerged of the latest run-in with overzealous photographers that left the pregnant pop star in tears.

It was on Thursday that Britney was walking out of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Manhattan holding her 8-month-old son SEAN PRESTON. In her attempt to navigate through the intrusive crowd and get to her car -- all the while shielding her baby from the flashing bulbs -- Britney accidentally lost her balance, almost losing her grip on the infant.

Britney's bodyguard helped her recover from her stumble and afterwards she went to FAO Schwarz Cafe to calm down, visibly shaken by the incident.

Today ET has learned that she was so distraught by the persistent shutterbugs that she has left New York.

Well she wasn't rumored to be on TRL. The host said they were trying to get her on Monday and I watched it so i can confirm. Even then I was like them idiots, they shouldn't announce the possibility of Britney coming w/o confirming it.

Anyways, I feel really bad for her.

Stupid, STUPID paparazzi! This just makes me sick. I feel so bad for her. I even said in the other thread it looks like there are a ton of people around her, its no wonder why she tripped.

It's so sad...Britney looked so happy in New York, David Letterman, shopping, going out...it's sad she had to leave so upset If she didn't leave, more power to her.

Have you guys seen the video? It's not even THAT bad. I never thought while watching the video that Sean could've fell. Pictures can be decieving. Believe half you what you see, none of what you heard.

Thanks for the video and your right, it really wasent that bad like some of pictures make it out to be. At least her bodyguards were there and that Sean didnt fall.

After all of this happening, I bet Britney will start keeping him in a stroller from now on.

goodness, in the video. it totally clears her. the fall wasn't even an almost fall IMO. and besides the bodyguard is quick enough on his feet he was already underneath the baby mid-stumble.

stupid pictures... they make it looks worse than it was... by a gagillionity times...
