But did the pop princess dis the "dirrty" diva about her recent weight gain? No. In fact, Britney defended her fellow Mouseketeer. "What's wrong with it?" the pop princess asked. "That's sad. She has a good look. The press always have to say something. The funny thing is that they criticize me for my perfect hair. They say: 'Ah, she wants to be perfect. Is it the right message for kids? So, if you gain 10 pounds, they will say, 'You are fat.' There is no way you can win, so I say just do whatever makes you happy." Christina has said repeatedly that she really likes the way she looks.

Britney Spears turns heads from Los Angeles to New York

BRITNEY SPEARS surprised fans with three unannounced mini-concerts at a trio of New York hot spots - Show, Splash and Avalon - all within three hours on Friday, Oct. 17th. The pop princess popped onstage at Avalon at 2:30 in the morning clad in a leather bustier and tattoo-print bodysuit. To the delight of screaming fans who forked over the $25 cover charge, Britney stripped down to a pink bedazzled bra and writhed on the floor during her four-song set. Spears was in town for an appearance on Saturday Night Live and to film an upcoming MTV special titled In The Zone and Out All Night to promote her album In The Zone, which debuts on Nov. 18th.

Britney opened her Avalon show with a bondage moment (above). "She was hot, real hot," one red-blooded male fan told Star. "She's not a little girl anymore." Added another: "I can't believe I just saw Britney Spears! This was so great!"

Britney is back in the spotlight with a new album, In The Zone, and new material that preview audiences are describing as hot, and a slew of hot magazine covers. But, the 21-year-old pop stars was missing former love Justin Timberlake even more than most close friends knew in the months after the couple's tumultuous breakup, in March 2002, Star has learned. During this period she stalked Justin by calling him night and day, forcing the *NSYNC singer to put a block on his home phone. After that, Justin, 223, even resorted to calling Spears' parents to complain,. "Justin didn't want to speak to her anymore," the source tells Star.

A meeting was called to clear the air. "She told him she missed him terribly," says the source. "He agreed he missed her, but only as a friend." Then Britney called Justin's video "Cry Me A River," in which he sings to a Britney look-alike about how he feels betrayed, "desperate."

Who Drove Britney Crazy!

While Britney was coping with her breakup from Justin, the man she called "my first love" was romancing three new girlfriends. First, there was Jenny Dewan, a dancer.
