BRITNEY Spears may have learnt her lesson. Heavily criticised recently for ignoring her fans, the pop star broke through a security cordon at Sydney airport yesterday to sign autographs.
Burly bouncers tried to shield her from waiting fans when she flew in from Los Angeles, but Spears stopped to sign autographs for a handful of young devotees.
Her insistence on meeting the fans brought joy to one young girl.
Britnee Ewart, 10, walked away with a glowing smile and an autographed album cover.
"She yelled out 'Hey' and then I touched her hand, and that's all," the young Britnee said.
Spears, 20, arrived looking casually hippy-chick in jeans and sneakers.
She is scheduled to perform live this afternoon in a free public appearance at Fox Studios and will tread the red carpet at the Australian premiere of her film Crossroads tonight.
The pop princess snubbed Melbourne by calling off a visit next week.
Spears, who was dumped recently by boyfriend Justin Timberlake, came under fire for ignoring fans at the London premiere of the film.
She rushed into the theatre, refusing to even wave to about 3000 admirers who had lined up for hours to get a look at their idol.
Next stop on the Britney whirlwind world tour is Japan.
Cheers, Diz
