What capture card are you getting again? I was thinking of Pinnacle Studio Deluxe 'cause it'll give me a DV option in the future is I so desire. Not much reviews/comments on it on the net though, so I'm not sure if its any good...

I got RnR off a website. I would imagine that it'll be up on Kazaa by now...

i should be getting the capture card this week or next so i should be able to upload something by the end of next month for sure....

hey quant what DV Option does it have?? cuz all you need is a firewire card and cable and a software proggy to edit/capture it....no capture card is necessary for DV....... mainly nowadays capture cards are used for capturing from TV or VCR etc.....

i'll try to upload whatever i can.........

After talking to a lot of people and crusing the usenet etc, I've decided to get a brand new Sony TRV16 miniDV camera and a $55 firewire card. I've since found out form my last post that these new miniDV cameras have a built in A/D converter and I can plug my VCR into the camera, then the camera plugged into the PC and then I can capture straight off the VCR. And I've been told that this is much better quality than the capture card and I'll have no sync problems etc etc.

It A/D stands for analogue-digital converter. I've been told that most miniDV cams have this feature, but some of them, you have to record the VHS on to miniDV first, then suck it in to the PC, but others have a straight thru function. Read your manual.

Are you just getting the firewire card? Or are you getting a card + software package? You can get the software (Premiere, Vegas Video, Media Studio) off Kazaa Lite, I did. And the firewire costs only around $60.
