| Interesting article, I just read: Credit: Herald Sun
Usher cleaned up, Ashlee Simpson was jeered and Britney brought along her dog. The 2004 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas were a veritable feast for The Eye.
Newlyweds Britney Spears and Kevin Federline arrived on the red carpet dressed in their usual brand of skanky chic. The pop queen chose a short, short mini-dress, overlaid with an awful black lace number and long dangly diamond earrings, while hubby Kev chose a cream suit with black pimp-style hat.
Their other notable fashion accessory was a little white dog - they even stopped on the carpet to let the pooch have a little wander. And we reckon the doggie's collar matched Brit's earrings -- classy.
Gwen Stefani showed up again with her posse of Japanese dancers -- is it just us or is that getting a little tiresome?
Simpson copped some boos as she collected the award for best new female artist, prompted by her infamous lip-synching gaffe.
The newly reunited Motley Crue presented the digital artist of the year award, but their introduction went off-kilter when singer Vince Neil and actor Tara Reid had trouble reading the teleprompter.
The chaos that followed found bassist Nikki Sixx censored by the TV network, before Maroon 5 was announced the winner.
"That was the most amazing possible introduction that we could have gotten," frontman Adam Levine said. Maybe they should have called in Anna Nicole Smith to give them some tips on how to really make an impact with an awards speech. |
