x Paradoxical II

Alright, i think i want to make this just because im bored, and i want this to become a good discussion. I think britney haters should come in if they want, because this happens to me all the time. (I try to stick up for britney, but i have alot of my friends bring her down)

Okay, I think Britney is an amazing singer, dancer and performer. If you dont like her music, you have to atleast admit she can perform like non other and is an amazing dancer.

I think the thing is with Britneys voice, is sometimes she doesnt use it to its fullest. But I also think its jives fault. Alot of Britneys songs that havent been released are amazing. (Im so curious, before the goodbye, ect).

Most people say she also is only famous because of MTV and because of her body and without that she would be nothing. I'll give them that. But thats with alot of people. Without MTV not many people would of gotten a hit. And for selling her body, I think if people had the body she did, they wouldnt be so mad, and also if they were 22 (which my friends arent, niether am i) They would begin to understand. They say that shes had sex like 20000 times, but again, she hasnt. Shes had sex a lot, yeah, but seriously, how does that judge anything. I think JIVE likes her in the sex error right now and they provide her with alot of sex songs because it sells. But if you look at what Britney rights - everytime, matm (some of it). And for ones she co wrote, i dont find a problem with. I think she wrote about sex because that is what she was going through at that time, which people dont understand. When writing and preparing for this album she had just had sex with justin and fantasized about it. And once you record a song on an album, your kind of stuck with it. So far she hasnt released any sex songs. And for touch of my hand, i dont get the problem. I think it is good what Britney did. It is teaching girls that it isnt a bad thing and that its okay to talk about ya know.

Also about her voice, I think there are times when it can be amazing. But also some times when it is bad. But someones voice doesnt stay good forever. There are times when you are sick, cant sing, dont feel like singer. People always say shes a singer and cant even sing, but she can sing. That is what got her here, not her body.

Another thing, her everytime video. I think alot of people are blind. My friend says that whole video she is trying to make us feel bad for her. But that is not it at all. My friends also like "She needs to suck it up, she is getting paid 202348565453 dollars, she should be nicer to the press and sign a few auto graphs while shes at it". Its like are you kidding me? The press is evil and they are there constantly. I think she needs to become famous. My friend also says that The press got her were she is today so if anything they should pay them back. Im like are you kidding me.

I disagree with that part. My body type and height is pretty similar to hers, and I know a lot of people that have bodies just as good as hers, but they still don't agree with some of the things she does. I think its more peoples morals, not their bodies.

Interesting points. I think a lot of your points, however, are miseducated. For example, claiming that she had just recently had sex when writing for the album. She said her and Justin had sex two years into their relationship. That was a four year relationship that ended in 2002. Which means they had to have had sex back in 2000. And that's only if Britney is speaking the truth.

Also, I really don't think her voice had much to do with how she got to where she is today. If you look at her first single, it grabbed attention because of the provocative video and the song itself. Not the singing. Since then, she's pushed the envelope with almost every video after that.

I'll admit, I'm absolutely in love with her voice, but I don't think I've ever heard anybody say "Britney Spears is an amazing singer" with the exception of the people here who believe that by default.

And yes, the press did get her where she is today. She'd have been dead (carreer wise) if it wasn't for Us Weekly keeping her in the spotlight while she was on her break. It kept people interested. Albeit, the music did its own thing, but it wasn't the music alone that got her where she is today.

As for the quote that Jess used, that's breaching on the whole jealousy defense. A very weak and repetitive one, if I do say so myself.

Yes I agree, just look how strong her voise was at the star search thing. but because of the smoking and jive not leting her sing with that voise than well thats a pitty thing i think yes.

erm I hope you know selling your body is what hockers do and having sex. cant seem to remember britney doing that. but yes I can see your point and I agree with most of them, and some i just cant seem to fit

hmm your friends are funny. i bet if they knew how it was to be a celeb they would not say that. and besides its not only brit who doesnt sign something sometimes..

it's true and I agree with swany when BOMT came out I don't anyone talked about her voice everyone talked about what she was wearing, how she was sexy in that video etc..

I think the only reason she is famous is because of BOMT because of what she was wearing and her dancing not her voice but I do think she have a good voice not bad but good

I think I agree about almost everything. I LOVE her voice, her voice can be just amazing sometimes IMO. If she sung live all the time, people wouldn't think she's bad. 95% of the singers out there are not exactly Mariah Careys but people don't say nothing. Even Beyonce... her voice is not incredibly powerful and everything but it's still my favorite voice. But I don't care much about the lipping when the performances are good... she doesn't lip her ballads and she sounds really good (at least in TOH).

You can't even use this as a valid point. How do we know whether she "has sex a lot" or not? And WHAT does it matter to us?

...erm some of you raise a lot of valid points, but I have to disagree on somethings. I don't think BOMT was a hit because of her provocative video, I think it was mainly down to it being a great pop record, her image helped, yes but you have to remember the era, pop was at the top and the record was the right formula.
I do think Britney is holding back on her vocal ability, or just doesn't really know how to control her voice i.e. concentrating on her strengths and down playing her weaknesses. This I feel is Jive's fault for not seemingly making it the priority. Britney is not a singer, but an entertainer, this doesn't mean she shouldn't at least work on it. About the sex issue, because she has nice body doesn't mean she has to show it, it also doesn't mean she has to hide it away, I don't think becasue she chooses the former means she lacks morals or some sort of self-respect, she is obviously comfortable and confident in her skin and aslong as she feels good about herself then I don't see why she should be made to feel ashamed. People often hold her on a higher standard or a lower one than they do themselves, causing them to either dislike her or love her. We are all judgemental and feel that we are in that postion to cast doubt on others, It always been that way and it will continue. You can love someone you don't know, so why can't you dislike them?
Britney seems to be a survivor and she's been through alot of things, good and bad throughout her career. Peope will always try to bring her down, aslong as she keeps doing her thing, makes more mistakes and gains more experiance she will be fine.
