Ok, I Know we had a thread for mediabase b4, but a lot of people I think, didn't go to it cuz it was so big, or didn't bother to read it and didn't know what it was all about. So maybe now we can do a new thread for each new song on mediabase. For those of you who don't know here is some info.

Mediabase is what keeps track of how many spins a song has on U.S. radio. Britney had 4 hits on mediabase this year, 2 of them being big hits. TOXIC peaked at #1 for over a month. EVERYTIME made it to #3, but fell back to number 4 quickly. OUTRAGEOUS & MY PREROGATIVE both peaked in the high 20's. The singles from the "Britney" album didn't do that well on mediabase, w/ slave peaking the highest.

This means that MONA LISA is #117, with 62 spins, last week: 0 spins, impressions: 0.380 (measured in millions).

Impressions is what measures how big of an audience is listening to the song. The Billboard Hot 100 is based on impressions, to debut you need 15 - 20 million impressions (combined from all formatts-pop, rythem, adult, etc). The American Top 40 chart is based completely on the pop mediabase chart as it stands every Sunday morning.

Hope this has been iformational to those who had questions. and GO MONA LISA!!! It's more than doubled in spins since last night (27)!

But the "Mona Lisa" single out there is just a test sample (as far as i know) so not all the radio stations will receive a copy (again, as far as i know).

I wish we have official info about the single and release date... i mean, Britney doesnt ewven have a release date for the album and the song is out there; its kinda confusing.

um...Kizzie said that it was released Jan. 1st. ??? It's looking like it is anyways. I don't think it would be doing so well if it wasnt.

my radio station has been playing... they said they had a 'bootleg' copy of a new song by a huge pop star, and then they played it, and it's actually gotten a great response... they are a clear channel radio station...

And apparently now it is NOT released to radio. I don't klnow what to think? If it was getting this good of a responce then don't you think they would go ahead w/ it?? Anywayz it's doin well, but I'm sure it will soon slow down seeing as how it's not being shipped. Shame.
