First of all, nowherein this thread have I 'talked down to anyone'. Please point out to where I talked down to anyone??? I've kept my cool on the whole thing...I'm certainly not a nazii who thinks that others are not entitled to their own opinions.What a boring life that would be!.

In my opinion, yes animals and humans should share the same rights. Humans were given the ability to reason and think, and we should use that to HELP other creatures on this earth, not hurt or kill them. To me abusing a child and an animal is the same thing. Both are innocents. Neither can speak up for themselves. Both need someone wiser to look out for them. And abusing a child or animal shows a blaring amount of selfishness.

As someone who is 'totally against animal cruelty' I don't see how you oould not see this as cruelty against an animal?

If this thread was about or mentioned Animal Planet I would have commented on it. However, this thread was about Beyonce so thats who I commented on. Should someone on the animal planet do the same thing I would express my displeasure on that as well.

HOWEVER there is a big difference in taping an animals mouth shut so that you can give it MEDICAL treatment that it needs, and taping an animal's mouth shut for a photo shoot. Just as a human that is having a psychiatric attack might need to be confined or sedated for it's own safety/health, so might an animal.

PS they weren't comparing taping the alligators mouth shut with it being slaughtered. They were saying that most likely the alligator has that to look forward to in it's future.

I think that the experience factor comes around the corner here. As people who deal with this stuff daily, they have seen what ultimately happens to forcefully "employed" aligators in domestic environments. Whether or not it's true and they're jumping to conclusions, we don't know. But it has some logic to it at least.

You said earlier that they weren't hurting the animal, but you can hurt an animal emotionally as well. It didn't go ahead and pee in her arms cause it thought it was fun, me thinks. Usually when an aligator's mouth needs to be taped shut it means it's resisting. It decided that it didn't want to be photographed with Beyonce. But cause it's "just" an animal we can simply tie it to the proverbial bed and force it to. It's kind of logical that it wants to bite your arm off then. I would.

Well, back to what people were saying earlier, wouldn't adopting a domestic cat and switching its environments be animal cruelty? Wouldn't taping an alligator's mouth for educational purposes on the learning channel be the same thing? Just because it's for educational purposes doesn't make it more right than what Beyonce supposedly did. And yet nobody makes a big deal. A celebrity does it, so it's a big deal. I just think it's illogical to place blame on a public figure JUST because theyre a public figure, when many do it every day.

That is one point I agree with you on. It doesn't make this particular situation any better though. It's also dependent on who the receiver is.

I don't think sending a domestic cat into the wild happens much. Switching one domestic environment for the other is not a problem. Especially for a cat, they're always outside anyways. Dogs have more trouble with that, but they adapt relatively easy. But changing a dog's environment too often isn't good for him. He needs people he can call family on a long term basis.

I don't mean to butt-in, but I couldn't help but notice this here. In the post you're referring to, she said that she wasn't sure if you intended to talk down to her. But obviously, she feels as though you did talk down to her or she wouldn't have said anything about it. Maybe I'm misinterpretting your intentions as well, but the way you worded this response in particular, it does seem a little bit belittling. She basically said "You've insulted me, please stop" and it seems you basically come back and say "I didn't insult you, I'm not a nazi" as if she doesn't know when she's been insulted. If you didn't mean to insult her or talk down to her, why couldn't you just say that?

As for pointing out where you talked down to someone, she quoted your post, didn't she? I'm assuming it might be when you called her "honey".

Thanks Swany. I appetciate you saying something but it's ok. I did quote it but I didn't specially point out what I meant. I thought it was obvisious. I was mistaken and I apologize for not making myself clear. And for the record yes it was the honey part.

As far as this subject goes I'm done. I've tried to talk about this and make other see my point of view and I'm either not coming off the right way or no one is willing to really try to hear what I'm saying. Either way I just honestly don't care anymore. I have other things going on. So you guys have fun and fight it out all you want. I'm done.

I'm not apologizing because I did NOT talk down to anyone. Honey is a Southern Term I use often to address pretty much everyone. I'm not apologizing for how someone took my post when I go over my posts very carefully to make sure nothing is offensive. I hope you notice in my previous post I said basically that everyone is entitled to their own opinion ...But take things as you may, I'd rather not post if I have to explain every little thing I say so someone's feelings don't get hurt. its ridiculous.

On the argument and I guess what really gets to me is that there is no need for the animals to be in the shoot, why cant she find other methods to create publicity for herself. This really has turned me off her now.

In Jess' defense, she always talks like that. I used to think she was talking down to me and just being out-right bitchy but I've realized it's taken out of context. And then when she IS doing so, you never know cause youre so used to misinterpreting her phrases. Same with Allie. I used to be like "Why is everyone being so bitchy?" I think it's being read wrong.

This is really my last word on this.

First off I live in the south and I understand honey is a southern term of endurment of sorts. Regardless it's still the context you use it in. I was insulted by it and like I said I may have misunderstood. If so that was all you had to say and all would be forgiven and forgotten.

But to be honest I do think you used it to belittle me. Why? Because when Swany tried to come in and shed some light on it you answer by basically saying "It's not my fault if you don't understand what I'm saying." I personally find that post to be incredibly rude. You could have explained yourself without being rude about it. Esp on a forum where communication is everything. Things here get misunderstood all the time I'm sure but people are usually willing to set things straight.

As for an apology I don't expect or more importantly want one from you. Because I know you would only be saying it and not mean it at all. Keep your apology for someone who cares.

That's it. I'm done. I really hope we never talk again.
