| Britney's comment on the diamond bra | | Dear Fans,
Since the bidding for my "jewel encrusted bra" on the eBay charity auction has exceeded our original expectations, I'm concerned that some of you might be confusing this bra with something that it's not. As correctly stated in the eBay description, this bra was worn by me during the promotion of my HBO special, however it is not the one I wore on stage during the "Baby One More Time" performance. I feel the correct thing to do is remove this item from the auction because I don't want any of you to feel misled. I want to thank everyone for your generous bids that have been made on all the online items. 100 percent of the proceeds will go towards hurricane relief efforts and I thank you so much for your support!
Love,
Britney |

| Well now that it's been cleared up I'm sure many would still want to buy it, so they SHOULD put it back up, it raised 30 thousand dollars, and the auction was far from over, so yeah put it back up with the 'correct' description and have it sell for lots for the charity. It's a waste, its prolly gonna go back into the closet. lol |

People would have still bidded on the item: It's Britney Spears' jeweled bra!
I will probably get flamed for this comment, but I find it very funny how she once told us she would write letters to her fans on her website often. Now, I stuck up for her on this subject before because I do realize she is extremely busy with her personal life, but she has been updating her website for awhile now, and that excuse seems to be aiming far away from the answer. Wasn't she the one who posted all of the pictures and comments in the "Dog's Crib" updates, and wrote the letter concerning the eBay auction on the "News" updates as well? So, if she so obviously has time to do all of this, why hasn't she been able to write us even a twenty worded letter, or at least have Lynne and Felicia check in for her as they have done in the past? It would take them no more than all of five minutes. Britney, the eBay auction is important, but a letter is what your fans want to see, and were told they would see. It doesn't at all have to be about Sean since we all know you want to keep him away from the media spotlight for as long as you possibly can, but just a nice, gracious check in would be great.

People would have still bidded on the item: It's Britney Spears' jeweled bra! | I'm thinking they did it cause of the following: I have a grand plasma TV for sale, the best out there. You begin bidding and the whole thing climbs up to say 2000 bucks. Then I come in and make a change "oh sorry I made a mistake in discription, it's not a 2000 buck plasma TV, but a 900 buck Rembrandt painting!"
So the bid is still at 2000 bucks. Are you gonna pay 2000 bucks for a 900 buck Rembrandt painting? Some people would definitely do that, but certainly not all of them. And it being for charity is no excuse because what person in their right minds would want to collect money this way for charitity? Contradiction from A to Z. Headline: Britney Spears contradicts self! etc.
Taking it off eliminates all possible misunderstandings, and maybe putting it back up some time later. Therefore I agree with them that it was the smart thing to do to take it off. |
