Your voice was heard. Following our posting of yesterday's petition, the news spread quickly throughout the Britney Spears camp, publicists, lawyers and managers were all told about our posting. One thing led to another, and Larry Rudolph (Britney's manager) called me on my cell phone this afternoon. I spent about 20 minutes talking to him, as he explained to me what had been going on in the past 2 weeks, seeking understanding from me. He told me that to put it simply, what happened with Britney was a catastrophe. He emphasized on the word catastrophe quite a bit.
He said that they had been in the middle of drama with agents, promoters, lawyers and the gang with millions and millions of dollars on the line. He went on to explain how they had never been through anything like this before and he started talking about how different this was from when Britney hurt her knee in February of 1999 because she was not in the middle of a tour at the time. He also said that they were left a week with pending decisions from the doctors and how this injury was completely different because Britney had to go through a very, very painful surgery, where they actually had to open her knee up and reposition it. It was nothing compared to the small incision and the removal of cartilage that originally happened back in 1999. He said that Britney had been under heavy medication as well.
I immediately told him that I didn't think that the issue was in regards to that at all, I said that the reason why the fans were disappointed was because they felt like Britney was distancing herself from them, without offering any kind of personal communication. I told him that it was disappointing that the press release from Jive in regards to the tour cancellation contained no message whatsoever from Britney to her fans and how it has been taken in such an impersonal manner by the fans.
This was when he said, allright, let me give Britney a call and talk to her about this, and see what she has to say. I said, Ok, please do...
About 10 minutes later, he calls me back an he says 'Allright, I told Britney I had a talk with you, I told her the situation and she asked me to tell you that she was so so so so extremely sorry to have disappointed her fans and to tell them it had not been her intention, and that she is going to make it up to all of us very soon. She also told him to tell me to ask the fans for their prayers so that she could quickly recover.
I then asked Larry about the Outrageous music video and single, and he said that he's currently working on something, but he won't know until next week, so he asked me to follow up with him next Tuesday, so I will and in turn, I'll let you know
Allright, there you go......your voice was heard, and Britney answered.
