Monopolies aren't good for the consumer. It doesn't matter whether it is public or private.

Its different! you can run the Us as you run Iceland! Its much easier to control a small system while a huge system such as the US can be hardly controled

Well it is something that will never change since government is the only way possible to run a state (at lest until they wont find a better system) were chained to them! although you can also get those services from private companies.

Ohh, so you're saying that governments have monopolies over governing? Heh that's kind of what a government is there for... that's like saying that parents have a monopoly over parenting.

But I see what you're saying... that there are things that government shouldn't govern, things that should be left up to the people to decide. In that way, government does not have a monopoly over governing. All depends on the amount of power you give it.

And after all you can always replace a government in another in case youre not satisfied with they way they worked! but as for medicine (for example) you can always get private treatments! and that will never be government owned...

So let me get this straight...

Bigger nation = worse system ?

The US could easily change both schools and hospitals and make them way better (being the richest nation on the planet)...

Its just that greedy people are usually the ones that control the country.. right ? If you think you can't change things like that in the US then you are just wrong... never say never!

Anyway Its not like all European countries are small like Iceland... many bigger nations that also have a better system than the US.

Maybe not everyone wants two important things, like education and health care, to be public. I know I don't.
