Unhappy Ugh, just ugh

I don't know if you all read Rolling Stone, but they have this comic strip in there called "Get Your War On". Well this week the author (David Rees) just did an article in it's place. Here it is:

Austin, Texas. The State House tentatively approved legislation that would prhobit homosexuals and bisexuals from becoming foster parents...."It is our responsiblilty to make sure that we protect our most vulnerable children, and I don't thinkwe are doing that if we allow a foster parent that is homosexual or bisexual " said Rep. Robert Talton, a Republican, who introduced the amendment.

Fuck the cartoon this week. My wife used to be a therapist for teens in foster care group homes. These were kids who had suffered abandonment, abuse and neglect. They were often profoundly lonely. I don't mean lonely like "oh none of my friends can hang out today-shucks I feel so lonely".

I mean profoundly lonely.

Night after night my wife would come home and tell me what profoundly lonely children do. Girls snuck out to meet "boyfriends", money snashed in vaginas in case they got jumped. Boys just shut down, too depressed to bathe. The group homes were sad places, and kids lived in them for years, waiting to be placed with foster parents.

Of course, many of them were never placed.

So now we have to read about Robert Talton, a republican member of the Texas House of Representatives who wants to make it illegal for gay Americans to give of themselves as foster parents. ILLEGAL.

It must be nice, to be some piece of shit in a suit and tie who gets to make up the laws in Texas.

And that's why I absolutely hate Texas.

And you know what else their passing? A law to prohibit "provocative" cheerleading!!! WHAT THE FUCK!

Texas government is so fucked up, it's not even funny. They always put their opinionated moral values in front of the real law.

Hahahah! I can't believe those people are getting PAID to sit up there and dream up these ignorant, stupid as hell laws.

Well I guess cheerleading will be no more, since most cheerleading is provacative. What is their definition of provacative I wonder?

"That young lady is doing a split! I got a boner! That is toooo provacative, let's outlaw it!"

Next they'll pass a dress code for the whole state.

There was actually a feature on The Daily Show With Jon Stewart yesterday on this stupid law. One of the reporters went to see the man responsible for the bill. And you know what? They dont even have a way to judge what is provocotive or not! Straight from the guy's mouth.

lmao. I miss the Daily Show. It used to be my ritual for the day included watching it everytime it was on.

And that is just stupid. You can't make a law to prohibit some kind of move without having a guideline that states WHAT the move is so that people won't break it.

Imagine all the poor cheerleaders in jail They'd probley give them the death sentence!

I dont have the best state either. I mean, I have to admit the democrats here, in California as a state, not So.Cal, are not Liberal democrats. I mean, There are a lot of liberal democrats here, but there are also lots of conservative Democrats. Also Moderate Democrats. Which is why this state has so many conservatives Laws.

I mean, this whole Democratic streak is new, and has been going on for the last 4 years. California from 1968-1988 has never voted Democrat.

Florida has the same law, does that mean Florida is F-ed up too? If I used the language you guys just used, To express what I believe I would be grilled to a crisp in a milo-second..

Dont worry. No one's going to attack you. I respect your opinion. But I'm saying what's so fucked up, is these laws are being passed with no right incentive behind it. It came down to people's beliefs which should not be integrated with the law. Seperation of church and state. I know the constitution is used loosely, but just ignoring the cold, hard statements is just ignorant. All I'm saying is some of these government officials need someone to read the Constitution to them and make sure they completely understand what powers they have.

I love Texas. I'd move there in a split second but obviously not for this reason. Every state has its problems. I don't agree with this at ALL but it isn't just Texas.
