But I thought there were plenty of prison inmates that are HIV+, why would she still be given preferential treatment?
edit: or is this just to put your theory, not why you think she shouldnt be in jail?

her entire livelihood would be destroyed if she was outed for this. that does not apply to regular inmates.

What her lawyer will probably try and argue is that she is a public figure, and as such her privacy should be respected. The problem with this is the law actually affords LESS privacy to public figures. It's an interesting theory, if it's true it'll be leaked eventually, but honestly I haven't been following any of this Paris Hilton stuff so I'm pretty clueless on it.

If your theory is true Sanjay then I hope she doesn't use the fact that she is HIV positive to do magazine deals, TV interviews etc. If it keeps her off the use of dangerous amounts of alcohol and drugs then maybe she could draw positives from it.

If it was "just" a DUI then she would have been in and out already.

Show contempt for the system, why should they treat you special after that?
