THAT is more suffering than she's been experiencing for years. | I completly agree. The doctors said that she was never suffering.. Shes been suffering in these 9 days more, than she has in the last 15 years. Which is cruel and unfair. Just because shes braindead, doesn't give us the right to take away her constitutional right to life. She cant speak for herself, so its best if others wouldn't speak for her.. espeically when we dont know what she wants. If we dont know, let her live, and when she dies, she'll die. We shouldn't have the right to deny people life, especially when you dont know what she wants. |

As for saying people shouldn't be allowed to talk for her...that's what you're doing. That's what everyone is doing. In a case where she CAN'T talk for herself, it sort of becomes her families job to talk for her, meaning her husband and her parents. |

| So, I heard that if she had been on the right treatment, she'd have been better than she is right now. Possibly even able to move around more and talk. Who's fault is that?
I'm sorry, but I think this is a sick/cruel way to let someone die.
She may have wanted to die, but I doubt by starvation. |

| Amen, Jess, amen.
However, I agree with Allie too, but the only reason I say let her live is because if she lives, she still experiences no pain, so what's the harm? Her husband still can't prove she wanted to die. |

We never know, and seeing by the fact that shes brain-dead, we will never know, but what I'm saying, is that Maybe, she doesn't want to die. If you kill her, and she didn't want to die, its too late. You killed her. But if she does want to die, she will die eventually, and we shouldn't force some kind of death on her, because we dont know what she wants. All Im saying, is that dont kill her if you're unsure of what she really wants. Everyone will die eventually, and her turn will come. |

| Exactly. He can't prove it, and if she's in no pain...what's the harm? I'm sure the starvation is worse than anything. No human can live without water/food, so she needs that no matter what.
I just wish the husband would back the hell off, and let her parents take care of her the way they want to. |

Daniel, Micheal Shiavo has prohibetted images and video of her wife to be played. The last video was 5 years ago..
When things like this happend, in 1945 durring WWII, when Hitler killed mentally unstabled and crippled people, it was a crime against humanity, but this is the same issue, and its being considered as 'love'.
If we cant prove it. Let her live. She will die eventually, and yes Jessy, its true, if he let better treatment given to her, Terri would have been a lot better right now. But he wants the cash, and appently, he wants the cash more than he wants to see the 'love of his life' alive. What a cold hard crime.

I'm not advocating for one treatment or the other as I think this is an EXTREMELY hard situation to decide on. I'm just playing the devils advocate here and sort of challenging everyones opinions. I do think it's rather unfair to let her die if she's not suffering in any way when she does have the feeding tube in. But the doctors say she's not suffering...maybe not physcially, but maybe mentally and emotionally if its even possible. |
