 Spanish the Most Popular Language in the US | |
i was readint the news and i found this very interesting..
Modern Language Association of America, MLA found that the most popular language was Spanish. Since 1998 the number of students in foreign languages in american centers was higher by a 17.9% traspassing the 1.19 millions in 1998 to 1.4 in 2002.
From the total of students in 2002, 53% are studying Spanish, the 14,3% French and
1,7% German
The Spanish has been the language more teached on the Colleges since 1970
"The Spanish is the more easy language to learn for the Anglo-speakers comparing for the arab or the Asiatic languages. Becuase there's a commun alphabet and the proximity to Mexico and Centroamerica" says Reuters Myra Shulman teacher of the College of Georgetown
From the analizated 148 languages:
35 are european
37 From the middle east of Africa
41 From Asia or the Pacific
35 From North-America or South-America
That's amazing! actually the most of the ppl from the Continent of America speaks Spanish...
Spanish is more spoken than English
