Now that's significant torture.

Tell that to the families of the people he has tortured and killed I bet they won't think it is significant torture just for him to have been in hiding. Just a few months of him being poor and hiding in holes is not significant when they have lost loved ones for no good reason to very painful punishments that he has inflicted. And have lived dirt poor fearful lifestyles themselves because of him. And his few months of living without his millions of dollars does not make up for it.

The U.S. let him get away once and led to his retaliation against his own people they will not be as lenient a second time.

The Iraqi people are all celebrating and dancing in the streets now that he is caught I don't think they are feeling any pitty for him. Or that they feel that the U.S. has done them any injustice. Nor will they feel any pitty for him to be put to death as they shouldn't.

Osama will be harder to find as a lot of people have suffered until Saddam. So it was only a matter of time when someone gave away where he was, I hope Saddam gets tried and ends up with a jail sentence rather than death, If I had my way, he would be tortured till he died as he made so many suffer and killed so many. Evil man.

Miranda, and what about the families of the people who died in the stupid war that Bush started? Besides, the US helped Sadam to kill all thath people.
But please don't get me wrong, I'm not against you, I know it's your opinion, I'm just saying mine.

I personally don't think it was/is a stupid war. It is doing way more good than bad getting rid of Saddam. I don't know why people feel like that , that's okay though.

Its not a stupid war and if it achieved removing Saddam, it was well worth it.

Apparently, Saddam was ultimately betrayed by his favorite wife. At least that was the story on Sunday. I don't know why there is going to be a trial. It is kinda pointless because we know he isn't going to be found innocent. LOL If it is public, then Saddam could embarass Bush in an election year which is why it will likely be closed for fear of a Milosevic repeat. They should have just let his fellow countrymen hang him. I wouldn't torture him though because if i did then i would lower myself to his level.

Simply put the ends don't justify the means. There was no reason for the U.S. to get involved with Iraq. Saddam should have been taken care of by his own people, not us. We can't get in the business of getting rid of tyrants, that is not what the military is there for. I'm tired of my country propping up despots and then when they fall out of favor remove them. As for any good to come out of it, it is too early to tell. Both Gulf Wars were stupid wars because they wasted lives and money on something that wasn't a threat to the safety of the nation. It is hypocritical of Bush to cheer on the capture of one tyrant and give money to other tyrants at the same time. Sadly, he isn't the only President to do that.

So basically, since it wasn't a threat to 'the nation' then US shouldn't get Involved????

i believe it was good. USA had the resources and caoabilities to help out suffering people, and that is what they ultimately did. Look at Zimbabwe, (my neighbor). Rob Mugabe is going on and on, destroying the place.

... Zim inflation at record 620% - Zimbabwe's official rate of inflation has gained almost 100 percentage points in November to stand at 619.5%.

... The official rate is £1 to Z$1,315

... Children in Zimbabwe are to become the latest victims of President Robert Mugabe's destruction of the economy, with fees at state schools about to go up at least 10 times.

South Africa is in a position where they can do something, but the ppl of ZIM are still suffering, as RSA are doing nothing.

... Nobel Laureate Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu on Monday slammed South Africa's failure to speak out against human rights violations in Zimbabwe.

"The credibility of our democracy demands this," he said in a statement. "If we are seemingly indifferent to human rights violations happening in a neighbouring country, what is to stop us one day being indifferent to that in our own?"

Tutu's comments came after President Thabo Mbeki shrugged off human rights concerns in Zimbabwe in a blistering attack on the Commonwealth for extending the country's suspension from the bloc of Britain and its former colonies.

Now you tell me, is it right to sit back and watch another nation perish, especially if u can help, just because it wasn't a threat to the safety of the nation????

.. when he is down, you should help your brother.

I agree with your post Jeremy, Iraq suffered so much and I am so glad Saddam has been caught and I hope the Iraqi people get to decide his future.
