| Pray for the people in Louisiana/Mississippi | | Hurricane Katrina is the absolute worst case scenario. Honestly, I never thought I would see it in my lifetime. This is Hurricane Camille II.
If the hurricane does not weaken before landfall, thousands are likely to die in New Orleans. The city itself will be gone, not destroyed, but GONE. And no this is not drama queening. The New Orleans coroner always has 10,000 body bags on hand.
I just hope that I don't lose my house in all of this since the current track has the eye near me. THANK GOD my mom decided to evacuate today because I didn't want to leave without her.
There are going to be lots of people hurting. Louisiana preparation always includes the words "piss" and "poor". The people of Mississippi are going to get the brunt of it as well.
It seems so surreal. Friday I was at a bar without a care in the world, today I may leave my house for the last time. What will be even more fun will be sneaking three cats in a hotel room.
I'm bringing my dad's old laptop and digital camera so i'll upload the pictures if I take any once i'm able to get back home. |

| 175 MPH now, a very STRONG Category Five. I think now everyone understands what everyone else feels like .I feel your pain, Kat, because we've been hit by like 7 hurricanes this year lol. It is NOT expected to weaken, due to the coastal waters being so warm, as opposed to COLD when we were getting hit by Dennis and such. Let's hope for the best Or hope it turns and hits us lol (which isn't exactly off the wall with the way this storm's been going) |

| Wow, the hurricane isn't even hitting us but we're getting the winds. The storm surge/waves have already destroyed seven homes along the beach in Walton County, FL (Destin, Fort Walton Beach). I took some pictures of the waves and the surf, and some of the flooding occuring in a place where it ain't even raining, here in Panama City Beach! Wow. This is nutty. According to the Weather Channel, we're going to get most of the storm surge and wave activity, moreso than New Orleans & Biloxi, where the hurricane is predicted to hit in just hours. |
