| Oh i forgot my Darwin talk
Survival of the fittest! If gay humans where a fault of nature, they wouldnt be aible to give their DNA to the next generation.. in other words: they wouldnt be living right now. Its a fact that being gay or not is in your DNA, and can be given to the next generation.
Point is, if religious people keep saying gay people cant have the same rights, its a disease, not natural and even start a 'how can I change my gay feelings into non gay feelings - camp' (LOL heard that on tv couple weeks ago! CRAAZZZY!) the only thing they will accomplish with it is that these people try to fit in society by marrying the opposite sex, have childeren and... yes! give their DNA to the next generation. One thing the religious people, you would think, wouldnt like so much. So the only thing they get is that what they dont want.
Now Im not gay and Im not religious, but I just think its wrong to put a group of people down, when they didnt do anything wrong. You cant help if you are a boy or a girl, blond or dark, long or tall, gay or not gay. |

Then most of you get angry when the republicans "take away" democray. Im sorry, but in a Democracy, Majority rules, and if the majority ruled against it, too bad, deal with it. This is pissing me off, how Liberals are mending the law to their interpretations, and yet, accuse republicans of doing the same.
Also, just because this is passed in the Senate, doesn't mean its passed in the state. The Governor can still veto it, and he said he wants the voters to decide. The voters said no to it by 70%. So, its most likely gonna stay banned, that is, unless, democracy still applys to California. | I agree. It's really gone too far. It was voted on and it was turned down - that should've been the end of it. |

And its Lemons, not Lemmons. | I'm highlighting your hypocrisy Lemons. Youre complaining over something that happened under virtually the same circumstances.
And better still, someone legalised Gay marriage for common sense. Instead of getting in a lame duck president with no sense!
As I've always said. COMMON SENSE SHOULD ALWAYS PREVAIL. |

As I've always said. COMMON SENSE SHOULD ALWAYS PREVAIL. | If common sense to you means overthrowing 61% of the vote to push an agenda that isn't wanted in California, then that is no means is common sense
If you consider overthrowing law that you dont like common sense, then thank god you're not the Governor of this or any state for that matter..
"Common Sense".. yeah right. |

| Unfortunately, George is right. You cannot discount the, while not overwhelming majority, but majority nonetheless. It's the system this country runs on, which to me, seems outdated, along with many other things, but there's not much you can do. It's just sad people are against something that doesn't concern THEIR well-being. I pity, despise, and laugh in the faces of those who dedicate their being to discriminating against a group of people and them having the same freedoms. Just shows how hate will always exist. But, think of it this way for those who are for gay marriage - marriage is religion, religion is marriage. So what if you don't have a piece of paper that doesn't mean jack shit? If that's the way this country wants to run itself, on a possibly untrue book, and discriminate against people who don't follow it or fit the description of the people depicted in it, which nobody in this WORLD is, then fuck them. I don't need their piece of paper to say I've married someone I love. Because in the end, religious or not, it's just a piece of freakin' paper. I had a long thought process about the entire issue, and if people want to be ignorant and stupid over something un-related to their life, then so be it. It just makes me look a hell of a lot better than them. It's no longer worth fighting with friends, acquaintances, and members of this board over opinions that will never agree, and it's too draining as far as mentally to know that people can be hurtful and discriminate based on their beliefs. Leave the book at home, and act like a person for once. Think for yourselves. Realize that you down-talking those who are different from you only divides our nation, and that those who don't believe the same thing are no less of a being or intelligence than you. I'm sick and tired of seeing people be so judgemental about something that isn't their business. Therefore, when it comes to gay marriage, fuck it. Fuck all marriage. It's a part of religion, and only a part of religion. Which in that case, means absolutely nothing to me. |

| That's a good post, Daniel. By virtually patenting the concept of marriage they do take down the value of it to many people. A collegue at work didn't have a marriage with his girlfriend either. He said it meant jackshit to him. Technically they are married, they just went to city hall, signed a few papers and were back out 5 minutes later. But he doesn't call his girlfriend his wife and they don't wear rings. They had to sign the papers for insurance reasons, but other than that they don't care at all. |

Ultimately, the only purpose for a marriage is to make it "official" that these two people are in love. Well, why does someone else tell me it's official? Can't I figure that one out for myself? I already typed out my view on marriage in the "You are legally married" thread in L&R. |
