I don't think you need to take George's examples too literally. I don't seriously believe that he thinks a farmer will want to marry a cow next, heh.

Actually when you don't allow gaymarrige - you STEAL their rights to be happy? We all know stealing is wrong, stealing is like the only thing you aren't allowed to, its the basic rule.
When you kill, you steal a persons right to be alive, or if you lie you steal a persons right to know the thruth - why steal a persons right to be happy and accepted as you are? |
That would be my next question. On which piece of land is "marriage" residing. Gayland or Bibleland?
Bibleland has marriage in church. Heteroland has marriage at City Hall. Sometimes Bibleland allows people from Heteroland to have their marriage in their church. That's cool, Heteroland and Bibleland are on good terms with eachother.
Gayland is kinda like the third person in the game 3 Is Too Much. Bibleland doesn't like Gayland much and fears that because Heteroland has marriages in their churches, that Gayland is going to demand this same priviledge. So Bibleland being the larger country (kinda like Germany and France in Europe) it uses it's influence to prevent Gayland from getting any sort of right to a marriage. It keeps the proverbial distance between them and Gayland at a maximum, which they prefer best.
Bottom line is that Bibleland is being a bit selfish in this situation. At least in my opinion. Even Heteroland doesn't really agree with Bibleland's stance. Gayland should have marriage rights too. Doesn't neccessarily have to be in Bibleland's churches. Some people in Heteroland might even offer them City Hall to marry in. Much to the disliking of Bibleland, of course. Afterall, 3 is still too much.

I think that's the whole problem summed up.
