I shouldn't even have to give a history lesson because every excuse for being against gay marriage is that it's against the Bible. So therefore, when using that excuse, you've automatically associated marriage with religion, and if thats the case, then marriage is a sham and worthless, just like the Bible..

first of all you don't give a history lesson because you either can't find won or are too lazy to get one to back up your case.

second of all the Bible isn't a sham or worthless. YOU just haven't gotten anything out of it and just because others are using it against something you care about which to me is a sham and worthless, doesn't mean it is. saying you don't get anything out of the Bible is one thing, but to say in general is a sham, that I take offense to and say to you what you say to everyone who is against gay marriage: go fuck yourself

Swany: typically as far as I understand it, the priest was use because the people felt that he was the one who had the authority to do so. I could be wrong, maybe political or high standing people in the society such as the leader or king/president did this in other cultures.
