and i find it intriguing the whole "fuck you for telling me i can't do this" deal. that's the whole point of a vote. it's a poll of opinion. the way democracy is set up, majority rules. 61% out of 100 is a majority (yes there are exceptions when you need 2/3 and all that jazz, i haven't been in student government where tha'ts come up for a while so please forgive). therefore that's how it goes. i really can't seem to drive that point home. yes some of you don't like the outcome and think it's unfair. that's why you should vote (if you're elligible probably spelled horribly wrong and i don't use the spell check on here if it even has one) because then you're voice is heard. if half of the people who are against it didn't vote, then they would be the silent and pissed majority. crazy government and human spirit

What you all are not understand is that it shouldn't be something you have to vote on. You didn't have to vote to make straight marriage legal....

that's different. straight marriage being legal came from Christianity. This country is founded by Christians and it's beliefs. that's why we didn't have to vote on it, those who made it law accepted it. There was no questioning of it. and if there was, it obv. didn't appear again significantly until recently

And yet here comes that separation of church and state...BUT being that religion is too big of an influence, itll never happen. we might as well have slavery again and take away their right to vote, as well as a woman's right to vote. because keeping gay marriage illegal is discriminating against a group, just like when slaves were in use and women couldn't vote.

i've told you a MILLION TIMES not to exaggerate.....(hopefully my pun is not lost). we all know the country is founded on Christianity. they realized that eventually people of other religions started coming here. they at some point said no it's not fair to say well you're religion is wrong and this and that. people were up in arms that the 10 commandments couldn't be posted at a court house.

historically states lead the nation in breaking through on laws. the federal government can't be expected to force 50 states to abide by something this new when (and correct me if i'm wrong) only one or two (maybe no) states have said it's ok to be same sex married. someone has a thread with the actual numbers with states and what they allow.

and i don't think slavery or women's rights to vote had to do with relgion
