Default I traveled with a hydrogen bus today...

"Iceland is taking part in a European environmentally friendly power project, Ecological City Transport System (ECTOS), and aims to have three DaimlerChrysler hydrogen buses driving through the streets of Reykjavik starting on August 31."

I think the date is wrong in the article because they just started it this weekend. But anyway today I traveled down town for the first time with a hydrogen bus. It was an amazing feeling and you could see people in the bus smiling and talking about it. I really hope countries around the world will work together on this project so we can safe this planet with clean energy before we ruin it. I really enjoyed traveling for the first time by a vehicle runned by clean water.

Many cities have now applied to get hydrogen buses... I think they will also start using them in London this year.

How does it affect the ride? Is it supposed to make it smoother or something?

Well the most important thing is that we need something else than oil for the future.. and you can't just do that in a month the day all the oil is gone, you have to start now and slowly switch in like the next 50 years.

But yes to answer your question it was smoother...Its not as powerful but only at the moment because its a new technoligy. But still good enough really.

You know, if someone could somehow find a way to make heat power things, then we would have no problems at all, because LOTS of things generate heat, and, in fact, usually it is a waste-product more than anything else.

If heat can be used, that would be extremely efficient.

well thats why oil companies are working on power like hydrogen for the future.. they know the oil won't last.

The hydrogen project here was done by Shell... we have the first hydrogen station for the public and it has a big Shell sign just like the gas stations.

People will probably start buying hydrogen cars at some level by the year 2010-2015 I think... but the other ones will still be more powerful.

Can't wait until the day cars that use oil just actually become ilegal... Probably depends on countries but I would guess about 2030-2040 here.
