| well... Thursday the hurricane came and we lost power... And we got it back today around 4-ish p.m. ... Thank God!!! The grocery store I work at was the ONLY store in town to have a generator so we were packed... I had to work today also (which was my day off ) but then the power came back on and now everything's fine... |

| You can read about it on my LiveJournal.
[[Wednesday night, I went to church with Sarah, I left my car at her house while we went (since it's like 30 minutes away) and I don't usually have gas to go there. At 11 o'clock (on a school night, yes), the car won't start. The battery is fine (but we thought it was a dead battery since it wouldn't start, ya know?), but the fuel pump (as we later found out) isn't working properly. So purchasing a new one would put a damper on my funds.
We got out of school Thursday, at 12:23 PM. Our power went out shortly after I went to sleep (which was around 4:30-ish PM). I woke up near 2 AM, but I went back to sleep since we had no power and noone was up.
Schools were closed on Friday, and again we had no power. I played my guitar for fun. Not much happened. Today is one of the days I forgot what happened. I think I went and checked on my car with my dad to see what was really wrong with it. Like I said already, the fuel pump wasn't working right and a new one is going to cost 200 dollars to replace.
Saturday, I woke Mikell up by playing my guitar. We had a fight, Spencer bit me three times in the back of my knee and veins were popping out and stuff. It was great. My leg went numb for a little while, in that area. Later on, we shared a barbecue with our neighbors (also without power) and we had shrimp, chicken and pork chops (which I didn't get any of, but that's besides the point because it was good). Darrel drove here with his puppy, Bobby (the cutest puppy, but a pouncer which Tia doesn't like, she gets vicious when he's near *feels sad for da pup*). The power came back on after watching Law & Order and talking to Becky on the phone.
Sunday, I dreaded going back to school. I found out later in the day that on Monday, I didn't have to go. I worked on my Nutrition and Wellness paper until I found out we had no school the next day (how typical of me, lalala).
Today, I'm going to work more on my project along with my English project. It sucks waiting until the last minute to do things. Such a rush, though.]] |

| I thought the media made a huge deal out of nothing. Last year, almost the exact same scenario happened here, but with much less coverage. We had a category four hurricane coming and it downgraded to a two in the hours right before it hit. Maybe it's because we get them almost every year here, i don't know. I could understand if it were like a Betsy or Camille, but i thought the coverage for Isabel once it downgraded was excessive. It was ludicrious. CNN was giving tips on what to do after a hurricane and hello! these ppl don't have power. And if they did, trust me when i tell you they aren't watching CNN anyway. |

| All we got out here (northern NJ) was strong winds.

Man if I was out of power until Sunday I would've had to have been checked into a hospital cos I woulda went nuts... Unfortunately if that was the case, the hospitals were running strictly off generators and still didn't have enough to power everything so I would have still been crazy.... |
