| Hurricane Dennis heads for the Gulf | | Quote: |
Private forecaster AccuWeather has the storm tracking into the eastern Gulf of Mexico, with landfall Friday or Saturday on the Florida-Alabama border as a strong Category 2 or Category 3 hurricane, with winds from 96 mph to 130 mph.

Really they don't know where it will make landfall. I've seen computer models that put the storm right over New Orleans.
Of course if it lands in Louisiana, that will be two storms in one week. I still have to clean up my yard from Cindy last night. |

| According to some news channels, the storm should be between a Category 2 or 4 as it gets into the Gulf. THAT is just wow. Here we fuckin go again. Ivan apparently wasn't strong enough for us! Why wouldn't it shock me if it hit us again? We're in Panama City, oh the humanity of it all!!!! I mean hell, it's 1 MPH below category 3.

| A hurricane has killed at least 10 people in Cuba and driven hundreds of thousands from their homes.
Hurricane Dennis made landfall in the south-east of the country on Friday, bringing torrential rains and winds of up to 240km/h (150mph). The storm is expected to pass east of the capital, Havana, travelling into the Gulf of Mexico before hitting southern Florida at the weekend.
Earlier it killed at least 10 in Haiti and caused heavy flooding in Jamaica.
Hurricane Dennis has "arrived, with all its diabolical force", Cuban President Fidel Castro said. He added that eight people had died in Granma province and two in Santiago. |

Personally, i'd prefer a hurricane over a blizzard, earthquake, or wildfire anyday. I just hope that the people still there make it through alive.
And if Dennis wasn't enough fun, there is probably going to be a Tropical Depression in the Caribbean within the next day or two. |
