My friend just called me and alerted me to this story, it's from back home where I live and crazy shit...I know the girl who did the killing. This is fucked up. Damn...she's actually the step-daughter of one of my managers at work...He always talked about how she had tons of problems and whatnot, but wow...I don't know what to say!

A 16-year-old Milan girl, charged with first-degree murder in the death of another 16-year-old girl, made her first court appearance this afternoon.

Sarah A. Kolb of Milan was being held on $1 million bond. She is accused in the death of Adrianne Reynolds of East Moline, who was declared missing last Friday.

In reading information to the courtroom today, Rock Island County Judge John Bell said Ms. Reynolds apparently was strangled and struck with a wooden handle.

Police said Ms. Reynolds' remains were found around midnight at Black Hawk State Park in Rock Island, and in Millersburg in Mercer County. Police believe Ms. Reynolds was killed in Moline, but did not say where.

Accompanied by several relatives, Ms. Kolb was quiet and soft-spoken in the courtroom today, anwering the questions of Judge Bell. Asked about her ability to post bond, she told the judge she had a job at a local cinema.

According to an East Moline police report, the suspect told police that she and another friend dropped Ms. Reynolds off at the McDonald's in East Moline last Friday at about 12:45 p.m. According to the report, Ms. Kolb told police she and the victim had had a minor argument, but had made up shortly afterward.

Police said other arrests were possible. They did not discuss possible motives.

Family members had been putting up fliers since last Friday asking for help in finding the girl. In earlier interviews, her parents said she moved to the Quad-Cities in November and had made only a handful of friends locally. She had worked at the East Moline Checkers for nearly two months, but didn't show up for work Friday evening. Her father said she didn't have a driver's license and didn't know her way around the area.

That's exactly how I felt...I just didn't know what to say. I mean, you hear about horrible things happening and always think, "Oh, those poor families! I can't imagine what they're going through!" But it's sooo weird when you know the people involved in something like this.

As an update on this story...it's pretty goss, so I'll put it in a spoler thingy...

Sarah and a guy she was friends with invivted Ms. Reylolds to lunch with her at Taco Bell...Ms. Reynolds went with them. While in Sarahs car in the parking lot of Taco Bell, Sarah and a friend beat and strangled Ms. Reynolds to death. They drove to Sarah's house with a coat over Ms. Reynolds, and once there Sarah gathered a gas can and a tarp. After that the 2 moved Ms. Reynolds body to the backseat and drove out to a small town in Illinois where they then tried to burn the body of Ms. Reynolds. After six hours and a trip to get more gas, they left the body and went home. A few days later they returned with another friend and a saw; yes, they then cut Ms. Reynolds body up. They placed her head and her arms under a manhole cover at BlackHawk Sate Historic Park in Rock Island, Illinois, and the rest of her body was found in the woods near the site they tried to burn her at. So far 3 teens have been arrested in this murder and cops werent saying if more arrests would be made or not.

There was a story on this in People last weekend, I don't know if any of you saw it...but it was there.

^^That it is. I found out all the details when I went home 2 weekends ago and seriously, I could NOT sleep...it freaked me out to much.
