| Expanding the EU? Yes\No | | Alot of people in the EU are talking about adding new countries to the EU (in addition to the 10 countries which are about to join the EU in 2 months).
Voices in the EU are saying that they would like to see countries such as Norway,Iceland,Swiss, eastern european countries which havent joined yet, Turkey and even Israel was discussed as a possible candidate for the EU (Israel has the same trade agreements as Norway and Swiss with the EU, which makes it a favorite country for joining) so what do you think about it? would you like to see a union which starts from Iceland in the west all the way to Israel in east? from Malta in the south to Scandinavia in the north? please vote and express your opinion!
My opinion:
Yes, the EU should grow, however the growth should be done carefuly and wisely, we dont want the whole deal to fall apart |

| I think allowing ten more countries to join was a good idea and they all have to live up to certain standards and got limits to fulfill others so they are definitely on the right way. Furthermore I think that it will help those countries economicly and that it will be a good new market for western Europe. In addition, it is a great opportunity to narrow the gap between western europe and the eastern part. |

| Israel is technically in Asia, why would it join the EU?
And I'm weary of large centralizations and unifications... but it's only a union-type thing so I guess it's ok.

#4 | | | i agree, isreal isnt even a part of Europe, so why do they want to be in it?
anyway I dont think its like a great idea to put all the small east-countries in it, since alot of them dont have alot of money and the people in it are poor. Then the EU has only more worries to help these countries because then they are part of the EU.
But Like Norway or Switzerland, I dont have a problem with them. | |

| True Israel is in Asia, but Israel has major trading deals with the EU! and thats what the EU is all about anyway (economy) Israel has the same status as Norway and Swiss due to the big economical deals going on between europe and Israel and thats why Israel was even considered as a member (something I think will happen in the future) and also debated the question whether Israel should join the Euro or not |

| I'm not gonna vote... all I wanna say is... let in the countries that wanna go in and let Denmark out! Please! I think some contries really needs EU to get on the right track... but I don't like it! I have always been against it! Not the part where we help eachother, but the part where big countries have so much more to say...
Say traveling.... what's fun when you travel? money... I think it's charming when you visit a country that they have different money than you... I wanna still have our queen on our stamps and money... not some lame man from God knows where!
Sorry if I sound mad... it's just that I'm against!
Israel... I thought it was part of Europe... i know it's close to Asia... but isn't it really in Europe?? |

| Israel isnt part of europe, well at least geographycally, Israel is however, part of europe in every other term, in sports, culture and god knows what else, Israel just isnt functioning as an Asian country simply because Israel isnt accepted by lots of Asian nations (mostly arab world) so therefore Israel is functioning as a european state...
I hope that helped |

| I don't see Israel joining the EU anytime soon. It is a little out of the way and there is a little Palestinan issue there to deal with first. Maybe it is a post-U.S.S.R. thing, but i'm with midnightman on this one. When nations start clustering together, i figure trouble is on the horizon. At the very least, if the E.U. isn't careful, it will collapse underneath its own weight. |

| I am suspicious of this. Somehow, many many countries joining together in their moneys and otherwise sounds like those countries becoming engulfed in one larger country. Pretty soon, instead of many small countries, you will have one huge, gigantic country.
I'm not so sure that's a good thing.
Then again, I'm not so sure that United Nations is such a good thing either and I have pretty much the same sentiments about that, too. |
