Last time I checked (yesterday), the British public had donated at least 100 million pounds. The government has pledged to match that total.

As much as I'm not fond of him when he's out on the track, off it he's a much nicer person. $5 million dollars was simply amazing from one man. I believe that's the highest single donation from the sports world for the victims of the Tsunami.

We don't need to say anything about those people who stole money.. their conscience will eat them up inside for what they did.

Banbridge is the main hot spot for donating here in NI and we've raised quite a lot so were told. Clothes and other aid can also be sent there.

Japan's donations are upto about 500million dollars which is just amazing.

Its so tragic, i cried when i heard about it. I feel so sad for all those people who have lost there families and friends.

I heard one story of a guy who was over there getting married and all 50 of his family members and his new wife were killed, thats so sad imagine having to bury them all

I can't understand why sri lanka or indonesia would refuse aid, stupid politics.

From what I gather is that some are afraid that this way, western culture will intergrate into their own, which in turn they wish to keep pure or something.

At the time I got notice of it, I think he even had the highest of all. Jennifer Aniston following close second with 3 million I believe it was. Not sure anymore though.

Oh and more bad news from NI, a couple were summoned to see whether a survivor matched that of a photo. They didn't. There's dashing hopes and then....well THAT. Awful.

that happens to so many families....they get the message that tehy've possibly been found and then they try and identify and it's not. it's truly tragic...

and anyone who has any sort of funds i would be forever ETERNALLY grateful if you donate anything you have to the links i've placed in my signature. please do so. i know you may know someone affected and i've been affected directly so even 5 dollars would be enough to feed 8 children 3 meals over there, that means alot to me. please. i'm asking for these donations because my friend was (we're about 95% sure now) lost, we just haven't received the phone call yet, help her family out, help her out please, thank you.
