I wouldn't be for the war If I knew what was going on today, and dont act like you weren't because at the time 78% of the country was for the war in Iraq.
Sheehan should go protest infront of 98 or 97 senators who voted for the war. Complain to your Senator about why they didn't thoroughly read the information presented by the CIA and FBI. They could have stopped it, and chose not to. Its not 100% the president's fault. | LMFAO! My God. Bush is the anti-Christ was BLATANTLY a joke. And you're generalizing who I hate. There are only three people in this world I will every say I hate and mean it - Jennifer Lopez, Bush, and 50 Cent. Way to generalize me, bud! And actually, Mr. Brilliance, I was never for anything Bush did because I don't like him, and never have, and that includes the war on Iraq. Afghanistan is a hard position for me to say if I was for or against it, because ANY President would have done the same thing, so I don't really think I can ever downtalk Bush for that, but he should have just finished there. I was NEVER for the war in Iraq, and never will be. I'm not patriotic, yeah I'm sorry 9/11 happened but shit happens. Move on. |

what I dont understand is how you think telling people why he doesnt likle the way America is going is supposedly making a wound deeper. My teacher just went to Cairo and back, and she tells me people outside of US do not hate Americans. They hate the way America is running. That is nothing to be saying that them hating our government is killing us inside. Micheal Moore didn't go to every country in the world to preach to them why they should take a more active role in hating Americans, caus they dont, and he doesnt.
And I told you that that Americans are dumb remark was real immature. So don't hold that against me.

I understand what you mean, but then, In my opinion, he just fuels more hate. Like adding gasoline to a fire makes it bigger. Thats just my view of it.
And dont worry, I wont hold it against you. =) |

| LMAO, Daniel and brainwashed. That'll never see the light of day. Possum, you are well on your way of single-handedly taking the word 'brainwashed' to overrated status. Quote: Originally posted by strongerbritters I'm not patriotic, yeah I'm sorry 9/11 happened but shit happens. Move on. | I agree with that one. They never even caught the people that were behind it to begin with, so I'd say justice is far from served anyways.
I also agree with Swany that war is stupid. It's mostly kill or be killed and that's as far as the thinking goes. It's like releasing two bulls in a pitfight. Two angry primitive minds that want to stomp a mudhole into something. Humans have an animal side too, and war is the ultimate way to release it. Shoot first, talk later.
Noble cause my ass. If you want to have a real noble cause, I have an example of one. Some hostile aliens come to destroy our planet, every soldier on the globe gets to gear up to fight for our survival. THEN we'd be fighting a noble cause. Since without this planet, the human race (let's be patriotic for a change) wouldn't exist.
But what are we doing? We're pointing our guns at eachother and in the process destroying our planet OURSELVES. And then we even dare to call that a "noble cause". Freakin lunatic is what I call that.
I think it's stupid to die for your country. What the hell would make my country so damn superior over another country that I would DIE for it?? Just because I happened to be born on this little spot of the planet? Now THAT is being brainwashed.
Every country is "great" in it's own way. I would never say God Bless my country and it rules all Earth. I would say God Bless the fact that I hear the birds sing every morning. Who cares about some borderlines created by people at war? Life is not about what belongs to whom. That's what trade negotiations and the entire economical system's designed for. Life is something else. It's bigger than that.
So I'd die for this PLANET, yes. But not just for the country I happen to live in. |

| "I'm against picketing, I just don't know how to show it." - Mitch Hedberg.
The lady sounds loony. She's obviously upset and doesn't know what to do when a camera is in her face, so she, like Kat said, uses the attention to further fire-up those against the war, and beef up the defense on those who support it. I imagine she loved her son, but if she really did, she'd let this rest in his honor.
She won't get the war to stop by protesting. Honestly. Did the hippies make the Vietnam war stop? Nope. There's no use, until what's done is done and the end product is what Bush wanted it to be. It's not just Bush who supported war in the first place. Doesn't it have to go through Congress first? Sure, some will say there are loopholes, but I'm saying, you can't blame it all on him. And don't say "I blame the Bush administration" because the people in Congress were more than likely there when Clinton was diddly-daddling with his presidency. (of course, this is my opinion, I'm not saying it's fact) Congress is responsible as well. They have control over how long the troops stay in Iraq.
Aren't the weapons of mass destruction in Syria anyhow? |
