I still think he was involved regardless of what any government says.

AL queda definatly will and has on many occasions and we should put all our resources into that group instead of spending all our money on the "possibility" that saddam could at some point use his "weapons" against us bc he hates us....but oh wait, he doesnt have any to use.
Even if Saddam himself wasn't gonna attack the US it doesn't change the fact that he had contacts with terrorist groups.

Terrorist groups were getting a lot of money/support from Saddam/Iraq so thats probably why they attacked the country.

I think its very easy and stupid when people say the US just wanted cheap oil... ughh... I mean it takes like 50 years just to pay for the war if they would steal the oil.

But that won't happen because the oil will be used to rebuild Iraq.

My best friend is from Baghdad (now living in Iceland.. has lived in France and the US also) and his whole family lives there... still he supports the attack because like most people he wanted Saddam out of the picture.

Saddam killed over 200.000 people... so I think killing only 7 thousand is not that bad for a war in such a big country that will save many thousands more than died.

The US, Iraq and the world will have a better future because of this war against terrorists that has started.

The money paying for this war is the american's tax dollars, the money from oil is going to bush's friend..vice prez cheney's oil company, and the reconstruction of iraq is also being conducted by haliburton(cheney's oil company), so all in all, they are getting money from us through a multi billion dollar project, and also getting cheap oil..seems like a win win situation for them.
Second, if saddam has contracts with other terrorist groups, why should we not attack north korea, pakistan, saudi arabia, iran.....the saudi's funded 9/11..but they also happen to have the largest oil supply in the world. I think that saddam should be out of power, but i think also that there are much bigger threats around the world that everyone should be worried about..and the money spent on iraq could be used in a more constructive way. Of course bush is going to flat out say that saddam has no direct link to 9/11 now, b/c hes in iraq..thats what he wanted, he has alot less people supporting him now than he did 5 months ago. He never directly said that 5 months ago for a reason....he wanted to mislead the people to believe that he was part of 9/11...b/c thats what triggers fear in us.

The reason is because the chances of a success are more when you have oil to rebuild the country.

And Iraq has been on the map longer than N-Korea.. but don't worry they will get attacked in the next few years They are probably making a plan right now.

So what if he did? We have contact with terrorist groups. Ever heard of the MEK?

Al-qaida got its funding from:
1)bin Laden who is helluva rich
2)religious charities

There has been no evidence Saddam has funded al-qaida's activities. Saddam repressed religious expression in Iraq because he feared being toppled by an Islamic coup. The only al-qaida were found in Northern Iraq, an area under our control not Saddam's. Saddam did fund Palestinian terrorists, but that is Israel's problem, not ours. Israel != U.S.

Oil is just the tip of the iceberg. The operation in Iraq was a shotgun marriage of hegemonical politics and religion. Bush had planned to attack Iraq right after 9/11. It was only after Tony Blair persuaded him to go after Afghanistan, that Bush sent troops to Asia. But oil companies will benefit along with Defense contractors and American firms involved with rebuilding. Rebuilding Iraq in our image and not theirs.

That was the plan anyway. You can't rebuild with oil money when the oil pipelines keep exploding. The Pentagon also thought Iraqis would throw down their gauntlets and welcome the troops. Even they admit now that they were wrong.

It is not the job of the U.S. military to play globocop and peacemaker. The role of the U.S. military is to protect and defend the U.S. Constitution and the land of the Republic. Not to make people play nice with each other. Revolutions must come from within and not from without. You can't justify a foreign military removing a president or dictator because that person is bad..If we allow that to become the gold standard, then any world leader is subject to removal at the whim of a foreign entity.

The "war on terror" will be as impotent as the "war on drugs". Why? Because it employs a military response to a diplomatic problem with no regard to the causes of terror. Eliminate the causes and you eliminate the threat. Besides, i hear there is a bumper crop of Opium in Afghanistan this year. We can't even control drugs in a country we control.

Let's check the progress so far:
1)North Korea wants nukes to deter the United States, might already have them.
2)Iran is getting nukes if they don't have them already. Has forged ties with India and Russia.
3)Saudi Arabia has expressed an interest in acquiring nukes
4)Israel wants to bomb Iran's nuke sites.
5)Afghanistan is still a mess
6)Osama and Saddam are still at large

Yes, the world is safer already!

Maybe Iraq has been on the map longer, but U.S. troops have been in South Korea for 50 years now. It's high time we brought them home. China and Japan will keep North Korea in line. The only reason North Korea wanted nukes was to deter a U.S. attack anyway(the crisis started with Bush's infamous "axis of evil" speech). BTW, there is already a plan in place for North Korea. However, the most likely scenario will be if North Korea acquires nukes, they will sell them to the highest bidder. Kim Jong-il isn't insane enough to fire a nuke with China next door. North Korea is dependent on China. To get North Korea into talks with the United States, all China did was turn off the oil.

Just b/c i dont agree with the governments actions does not mean that im a conspiracy theorist....god, ever heard of free speech? ever heard of forming your own opinions and thinking for yourself? ever heard of a open mind and questioning authority. If your saying that my statement about attacking iraq was a plan before sept 11th is a "conspiracy theory" then your dead wrong. Its a fact, they had it on their agenda. If you know anything about this cabnets history with iraq you'd know they wanted saddam out and know they have unfinished buisness

^WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT, ever heard of the first gulf war and basically everyone being pissed off at bush sr b/c he didnt have the balls to kill saddam then rather than have his son do his dirty work? and yeah, AMERICANS fought for our rights, no one came over and fought for those rights FOR US. Ever heard of Vietnam?! i cant even have a conversation with you since you obviously dont know anything about the matter. THanks i know what a horrible man saddam is but i dont think thats a justifiable reason for us to go over there and kill 6,000 people along with 300 of our troops and our money. What about syria, what about saudi arabia, what about africa.......WE CanT HELP THE WHOLE GOD DAMN WORLD
