If it's over let it go and, come tomorrow it will seem so yesterday, so yesterday, I'm just a bird that's already flown away, laugh it off, let it go and when you wake up it will seem so yesterday, so yesterday, haven't you heard that I'm gonna be okay...

Then why is Oral Roberts still alive? Ditto for Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson. Or more infamously, Jim Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart. They are all ministers of mendacity fleecing elderly ppl of their Social Security checks in the name of Jesus. Pat Robertson teaches on the 700 club that according to the Bible if you send him a donation then you will be wealthy and successful.

The Bible is about truth, the whole thing. Not just pages. It's all happened, which is why it was written. In the back of every Bible there's a page that says not to take from the book and not to add anything.
Just because something has historical nuggets in it doesn't mean it is true. Nobody can go back to verify if those events are true so all claims to veracity are ultimately based in faith, not facts. I have four Bibles and none of them have a disclaimer in it saying nothing has been altered. Of course the disclaimer is B.S. anyway since meanings are altered or lost as you translate from one language to the next. The only way to accurately comprehend the meaning is to learn the language it was originally written in.

No it doesn't. You can say the same thing about any holy book. Muslims believe the Koran is the unaltered word of God as well. You believe it is the Bible. They don't. Who is right?

I follow what the Bible says, that is why I said I felt it was wrong. I've never gone up to a gay person and said, "Hey, what you're doing is wrong" because then, by definition, I'd be judging someone by what they do in their alone time other than what kind of a person they are judged by their personality. I've never performed a hate crime and I don't hate any one who is gay. Therefore, I haven't really judged any one. I just feel that it's not right for them to get married, as it is a traditional thing between a man and a woman to be joined in marriage. It's not so traditional if a man and a man do it, or a woman and another woman.
Interracial marriage isn't traditional and was illegal for a long time. Many people thought that the Bible instructed the races to be separate. Even now, interracial couples have problems with acceptance. Many people are choosing to be single parents and to never marry. There are lots of situations that aren't traditional that occur today. It is all about what arrangement works for you.

Getting back to the original topic, the Constitution should only be amended rarely and for good reason. Prohibition anyone? Let's face it, marriage is a contract between two adults. Churches don't have to recognize gay marriage ,but the state should.

That's sick.

Really, I don't see why some people [religious fanatics mainly] think they're all so high and mighty and think that they should have a say in how someone else lives their life.

Down with Bush!
