| But not in those senses. If I had the same name as a suspected terrorist, it doesnt mean that I am guilty. |

But yet, you don't live outside of your country, so you don't realize how offensive this is. I flew in and out of Hamilton several times in the past six months, and each time I went over U.S. airspace. So why does the U.S. government need my name when I'm travelling within my own damn country?
It's ridonculous. |

| Hmm, it seems BBC failed to mention ALL of the facts here, as usual, more than likely anything to make Americans look bad. Basically, it's not getting a list of all the people on flights. Right now, the system that is in place is when a plane that lands in the U.S. from a foreign country, when someone boards their flight, their name is scanned through the Government's terrorist watch list. NOW, they just want the same thing done for planes going over the U.S. Our government never gets your names. Our government never gets your info UNLESS you match someone on the watch list. So, y'all are overreacting a bit. And if you still find this offensive after I clarified, well, then, too bad I guess. Because it's pointless to be. Just because we're not the only country who gets attacked, doesn't mean we can't have this stuff happen. Our government is looking after us. I guess the other countries don't give a fuck. How should that be OUR fault? |

| So its perfectly OKAY that innocent people that just HAPPEN to match the name of a terrorist may be detained and tortured like this guy???? Quote: |
A Canadian citizen who was detained last year at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York as a suspected terrorist said Tuesday he was secretly deported to Syria and endured 10 months of torture in a Syrian prison.
| (Kat posted it earlier, but I think a lot of people just skimmed right over it).
Giving the government even MORE control. Bad effing idea. |

Giving the government even MORE control. Bad effing idea. | Hey, shit happens. We can't sit here and dissect the common mistakes, like if someone goes to prison who didn't commit a crime went because more than one person (at least 7/12) found reason to believe he did it for one reason or another.
I'm betting there's more to that story than is being told, as well. But, anything to make America look bad. Obviously they didn't just send him there because of his name alone, but iof course the media would lead people to believe so. We can't argue about what we don't know, and all we know is extremely LIMITED information. |

Basically we're arguing over what we do know. You, on the other hand, are the one bringing up other sides of the story which we do not know. Therefore, you are the one arguing about what you do not know.
[DISCLAIMER] I did not say that what we know is true.
