How is that justice? 5 fucking years! That man deserves life inprisonment. *sigh* This world is stupid.

More punishment for crimes doesn't make things better.. it can even make things worse.

All people have to do is look at the US to know thats true... punishments in the US in general are worse than in other modern countries... still their crime rate is one of the highest and things are not really getting any better are they ?

And the war against drugs (in any country) is one of the dumbest thing humans have ever tried to do... Banning things and arresting people won't get you far.

By the way I´m not saying that the guy should just be free and nobody should do anything. or that what he did wasn't wrong.. I´m just saying that punishing people more won't get you anywhere.

I agree with what you are saying I just think that 5years for a rapist is disgusting when here in the UK a burgler can get upto 15years. I don't see how stealing is a worse crime than raping children and it just makes me angry.

I think the guy should get life because I don't think he should even be allowed back on the streets where he can harm children again.

I think alot of countries have got what prison is meant to be about now anyway, its like its not punishment now, its a place to be rehabilitated and make you change so when you get out of prison you won't return to doing whatever it is what you did before.....

Yes, the problem is within the states and its laws. Like Geiri said, the crime rate in the US is much higher than the norm. And they attempt at punishing accordingly. However, in the past they've punished too much. And the problem is that there is not enough room in prisons to house all these criminals. So what are they to do? What CAN they do? Nothing. The only way to get more people into jail in the future, is to let criminals out of jail sooner, to provide more room to punish future criminals. Make sense?

I dont know if thats the case as it is today, perhaps its a precautionary measure, as it is already happening in other countries around the world where MURDERS are getting 2 years in prison because they can't house them.

Here you get like 0,5 to 5 years for raping.. and like 3 to 10 years for murdering someone.

Still our crime rate is very low.

And seriously this "drug on war" thing is so dumb.. People just can't accept that the oldfashion "ban it" thing isn't working...

What happens when you allow drugs ?

1. Like 50% less people you have to put in jail.. that means you can have murderers, rapists and others for a longer time in jail.

2. The government starts selling it... and that cuts the legs of the ilegal business around drugs... So less people will become criminals just because they use drugs.

3. Drugs will become cheaper and SAFER so thats good for the people that were unlucky to get addicted to them.

4. The rate of people using drugs might actually go DOWN.. since its not as exciting anymore.. Also the government could use they money they made by selling the drugs.. to help people that get addicted more and for FREE... also spend money to inform people how dangerous these drugs can be.

Its not just people addicted to drugs that agree with this.. many people that hate what drugs have done to them or their family members... but still think it being legal would make things better. This war against drugs is something you can't win.. you just have to accept it and help the ones that are unlucky and get addicted.

it could him from raping more children. offenders like that can repeat. unfortunately though, the "justic" system doesnt work fully without proof, connections, etc.

i think less small offenders need to be locked up or our government should spend on more jails to lock sickos up. i know they are sick in the head but even with therapy or whatever i dont want child molesters out there.
