Now, I'm not into the show, but from what I understand, people from all across USA audition over and over again so that one person could become the next American Idol, and get a record deal. Correct me if thats wrong.
Meaning that right now, only two of American Idol's former contestants should have contracts (Kelly and Ruben(?)), yet there are five of them who have contracts now. Justin from AI1, and Clay and the third finalist for AI2.
What is the point of having the rule that only one gets the record deal, when just days after, the rest of them get it too?
If you ask me, they are just going to ruin their own show, because now people are gonna watch the show for a bit, and the contestants in the final three are going to not try so hard because they know they will get a record deal no matter what.
Sure, they won't get the title of being "American Idol" but if you ask me, you're better without it anyways. Kelly doesnt have much of a carreer left.
And when the contestants stop trying, people will stop watching.
*sigh* Those are the opinions of someone who hasn't seen an episode in his life, and quite frankily doesnt have any interest in seeing the show.
