Thumbs down Spiderman... very average

Ok first of all note that it was only released in Australia this weekend, so that's why it took me a while to watch it... I got sucked in by the hype and the positive comments here, but I have to say I thought it was ok, but far from brilliant. Very average.

This is coming from someone who has never really followed Spiderman so that's probably part of the reason. I just found the movie rather childish and extremely predictable and full of holes in the plot. If a dude gets bitten by a spider and gets seizures - he doesn't go to a doctor? Anyways... based on a cartoon I guess. The effects weren't bad - I thought the action lacked a bit of originality - there are only so many times you can show someone swinging from building to building before it gets old. Spidey didn't really seem to have a lot else up his sleeve (gimme Superman anyday!)

Alright, so that was pretty scathing but I was expecting more. It was still watchable, and had its moments such as when Spiderman entered the wrestling contest in that great costume, hehe. Thought the ending was pretty dodge too - the guy was worried about people close to him getting hurt so he wouldn't be with the girl... even though he just killed the bad guy?

Usually I don't mind if a movie is a bit week if the action/effects made up for it, but I just don't think Spiderman falls into that category. Just wondering what you guys saw in it...

Personally I thought the movie sucked majorly. It was boring, and too...common

see it, it's worth it, and Chewie, it was based on the comic book, not a cartoon

ah yeah that's what I meant...

Hmmm should probably note I'm not really a comic book fan either in my review.

Since it's based on a comic book, I think they have some leeway in having comic book things happen Including the ending
