***POSSIBLE FIRST EPISODE SPOILERS***
I just saw the first episode of the new season and I'm filled with so many mixed emotions...it seems that show has reached an impasse in terms of the girl's storylines...
The dynamic of the show has definitely changed now that Miranda has a baby, Charlotte has returned to the dating scene slightly more jaded, sex is the furthest thing from Samantha's mind while she tends to her broken heart, and Carrie is definitely sexless in the city without a love to call her own (aside from the Big Apple)...
Gone is the whimsical and fast paced sparks that were created in the past seasons...it seems like this show is beginning to grow up and it's entering an awkward transitional stage...
*...now on to the shallow fashion talk...*
Carrie is not quite the same free-spirited "Ka-Ka-Katie girl" now that she has cut off her signature curls...she looks older and more sedate...even her clothes have become more matronly (probably due to SJP's impending pregnancy)...
Miranda looks better than she has ever looked now that her hair is finally creeping closer to her shoulders...she definitely has that maternal glow...
Samantha is most likely going to be the "fashionista" now that Carrie is maturing (and expanding)...if the first episode is any indicator...her character is going to be the one to watch this season...she looks younger and more amazing than ever...
Charlotte looks as wide-eyed and fresh-faced as always...although her "inner-Samantha" seems to be surfacing now that she's on the "prowl"...this should be interesting!
There will only be eight episodes this season...so hopefully the plots won't take so long to thicken...
Big returns in an upcoming episode dubbed "The Big Journey"...I heard that it will be set in San Francisco...
On a sad note...Aiden will not be returning this time around
...but on a lighter note...neither will Trey
...
The first episode of this season may have been a love letter to New York...but the focus of the show was most definitely on boobs, boobs, and more boobs...anyone who's seen it will know what I'm talking about...
In short, I'm thrilled that my favorite show is back for another season...but I guess we will have to wait and see how all of this sudden change will play out...whether it will evolve and explore new territory...or fizzle out and lose the magic that made it what it was...
