 Robert De Niro to return as Al Capone! | |
Robert De Niro is to be reunited with Kevin Costner in a prequel to 1987 gangster flick The Untouchables.
The star is to reprise his role as Al Capone in the new film, while Costner will once again play Eliot Ness.
The Untouchables first hit screens as a TV series lasting from 1959-63 starring Robert Stack as Ness.
Both the series and film - which featured Sean Connery as cop Jimmy Malone - were based on the book of the same name by Oscar Fraley.
The spin-off is being called The Untouchables: Mother's Day and is being made by Paramount.
It will focus on the rise of Chicago gang boss Capone in the years before Ness and his team made their move. |
