| The prequel to the Exorcist to be finally released in the US.. | | The long-awaited prequel to horror film classic The Exorcist has finally been released in the US after being "cursed" by cast and crew changes and accidents.
Exorcist: The Beginning is set before the 1973 original, which is regarded as one of the most thrilling films made.
But the prequel used three directors, was totally reshot because it was too tame at first, and final director Renny Harlin was injured by a car on set.
Critics did not get advance screenings, fuelling speculation it will be a flop.
Exorcist: The Beginning was first announced in 2001, with director John Frankenheimer and actor Liam Neeson on board. |

| I wanna see it I love "The Exorcist" because a) it's scary b) it's hilarious and c) "Your mother sucks cocks in hell." :x I wanna see the first one. Hopefully it'll be better than the third one in which old ladies were crawling all over the ceiling. |

| i thought the first one was going to be scary. but you have to look at the precedent at the time. people were throwing up when it first came out. when i saw it for the first time this year, the only thing that bothered me was her walking like a crab down the stairs throwing up blood. the rest was pretty tame. that's kinda sad lol. this one looks good though. |

| It sort of bothered me when I first saw it. Not a whole lot, but like Mike said, the times are different now from back then. Back then it was much easier to get scared. I know people were scared shitless of "The Amittyville Horror", and when I was 9, I was so scared I had to leave the room half way through the movie. I watched it finally for the first time about two years ago. I laughed. I was talking to some of the people I work with, and one woman was scared out of her mind for that movie.
These days we're so mind-damaged by special effects and the safe-house of reality, that we don't let our imaginations get into these movies anymore, and it takes a lot more for us to get scared. |

| First of all the Exorcist creeps me out. Its based on a true story, so that gets me (although supposedly the child that it is based on is male, and was being sexually molested by his aunt, which caused certain psychotic episodes), plus the flashes are scary (you know the flashes they show you of the demon).
people today are so desensitized, so we don't find it scary. I still do because I was not allowed to watch horror movies until I was 16. When I was 4 I accidently saw some of "Nightmare on Elm Street' and I'm still scarred. I have the movie and I still get scared while watching it, but my mom would say I have an overactive imaginaton.
Anyways...This movie looks like it sucks. usually when critics arent allowed to prescreen thats a sign that it bites. |
