The Oprah Winfrey Show will remain on US television until 2011, after its host signed a new three-year deal. The series began in 1986 and has made Winfrey one of the highest-paid women in US television.

"The thought of taking the show to its 25th anniversary is both exhilarating and challenging," Winfrey, 50, said.

The show has won 38 Emmy awards, been distributed to 107 countries and has been a top-rated talk show in the US for the past 18 years.

The 50-year-old host originally planned to retire from the show in 2006, but decided to stay after a boost in the show's ratings. Winfrey's onscreen Book Club also proved a huge success, with her endorsement of a novel ensuring it made the best-seller lists.

If she was to resign in 2006 and she signed a 3 year deal, that would make it 2009 that she would end in, not 2011, right?

I've never been a fan of Oprah, but I know many people are. I think she should just keep doing it as long as she can and as long as she has fun with it.

I been watching Oprah lately cuz I choose not to have a life and that ho is crazy....lol..... shes mad funny at times... and she talks alot about food,.,..lol

I love Oprah, she's an awesome person and gives so much back. Her show has lots of meaningful topics unlike the other talk shows out there.
