Was Mariah's Glitter reaally THAT bad? - Eternal Allegiance

I havn't seen it, but I think it was - because in Denmark, it didn't even went to the cinema - it went straigth to DVD/VHS - but I wanna see it - just so I can judge for my self...

It wasn't bad at all. It did bad cause she was in the hospital for mental problems since she's such a workaholic and so dedicated to her fans and music. She values them over her own life I think. If that had not happened or it was realized back when daydream or music box was out at the peak of her popularity (so far) then it would of opened at number one and the press would be great about it.

I also think if Crossroads opened now it wouldn't do as well due to the breakup, smoking, etc. The media builds u up and breaks u down. They are your best friend and your worst nightmare.

I am a TRUE MARIAH AND BRITNEY fan. I may not like everything they have done. But, they are human beings, make mistakes, and should not have to be perfect all the damn time. If we could only mock those media people for their lifes, they are probably so much worse and more corrupt then britney and mariah.

Glitter wasn't as great as say Spider Man, Ten Things I Hate About You, Interview with the Vampire which are some of my favorite movies. But, it was better than a lot of crap that comes out and still gets great reviews, revenues, and publicity. If you haven't seen glitter and like Mariah or just wanna see it, go for it! I don't think you'll be disapointed. The beginning and that little girl oh so cute. And the soundtrack has some of her best vocals and music ever. (Reflections is in my top list of songs ever, great lyrics, music, and vocals that will blow your mind)

I mean, I saw Blair Witch thinking it'd be great by what I heard and what the media said (so scary blah blah blah) and I thought it was worse then being tortured to a slow death (not really but just sayin).

See Glitter, you may like it. I mean, some not the best reviews and peoples opinions of Crossroads (people also dont always say movies just say they hate em and never give them a chance) didnt mean I wouldnt see it. The same goes for Glitter.

I really liked Glitter. It's a really cute story, and i cried my eyes out in the end!!!

I thought GLITTER was great for her first movie, and first acting role. Critics were just pissy and took advantage of the fact that she was in the hospital and could not promote her movie, or her cd. Glitter the CD flopped because it came out Sept 11th, and I KNOW that had a major factor, but they fail to consider that. Then the movie came out Sept 21, and people were not going to movies as much. People just want to talk shit about her because everyone else feels they can.

i know i put my bday under profile as a different date (maybe i'm paranoid) but not as many people will see this thread:

what's really sad/upsetting is that glitter was supposed to open on my 18th bday and i was anticipating it for months and months.

oddly i had this strange feeling (before her breakdown) what if, i hope not, maybe the movie will be pushed back later. Its like I had psychic Mariah abilities (but for a bad thing). I think its kinda weird.

I wonder when Wise Girls comes out, Kizzie do you know? I hear she's good in it. I also liked her in the Bachelor but was dissappointed she was in for like 1 minute and I thought she'd have a major part.

What is so bad about her music? Until you can make music of the same quality or better, shut up. Do you even know her lyrics? Look on my siggie from Looking In. Can you write that sh*t? Prove it that you are a better lyric maker, background music maker, and vocalist. Can you sing 5-7 octives? Have you had a career in music for a decade? Have you sold over 100 million?

What exactly is so bad about HER MUSIC? I am not talking about her personal life, clothes, interviews. Her music I would say is of the quality lyrically of a great named Stevie Wonder. And her voice is an angel's. She was born to sing.
